A Classy Excuse To Watch Michael Fassbender Have Sex With All The Things

What’s Shame? It might be an emotionally exhausting look at addiction, familial bonds and the psyche of The Modern Man. It might be an artistic second film from acclaimed British director Steve McQueen. It might be a potent showcase for two of today’s rising stars, Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. Or, honestly, it might be a classy excuse to watch Michael Fassbender have sex. A lot of it. Take a gander at the trailer and let me know. But, um, watch it with your earphones on, be sure you’re sitting down and make sure your boss isn’t anywhere nearby.

Sex with all the things? What about all the people? What about all the places? I guess he could have sex with all the things in all the places and that affords a thematically-appropriate double entendre.

Sometimes on Pajiba it seems like I make all the comments because I can't see all the Youtube from all the company I work for, and I feel all the letdown because I can't see all the trailers and all I can do is make all the comments to make up for the lack of all the viewing. This fills me with all the disappointment, so I'm making a companion film in which I sadly eat all the things. It's called Autoanimadversion because I have all the time not watching all the trailers to look up all the synonyms for "shame" and I have most, but not all, of the pretentiousness.

His name is Pierre, he has come from Paris, he has come to have sex with your family

After seeing this my brain went monosyllabic.

WANT.

Posted by: Zirze at October 14, 2011 12:31 PM

Yum! But how are we supposed to watch this when it comes out? I can hardly wander casually into my local cineplex with towels and lube and just wait in line beside the little kiddies waiting to go in to Nanny McPhee 7: The Reckoning.

PaddyDog, what if you stored your supplies in a discreet paper bag or a cute Dora backpack? Would that help?

Posted by: llp at October 14, 2011 1:03 PM

I saw this at TIFF.

This is what I have to say:
EVERYBODY GO AND SEE IT BECAUSE IT IS REALLY GOOD.

A Dora backpack might work.

My experience with cineplexes is that they frown upon paper bags being smuggled into their theatres. They probably wouldn't care if it was towels and lube but God forbid it should be gummy bears.

I think if you store those items in a Dora backpack, you'll automatically be added to the national sex offender registry. Maybe go with a pack that doesn't have a cartoon character on it.

I would love to see you say that to bronies.

All the things is an Allie Brosh reference.

Posted by: youngpadawan at October 14, 2011 1:38 PM

Um, she said they were family. Is he doing his cousin or something in this? That's going to be really awkward when all of you are getting hyped to see him sleep with a bunch of girls and then all of a sudden he Fassbends his own sister. Maybe the audience is supposed to be the ones with Shame.

Posted by: Paultera at October 14, 2011 1:48 PM

I realised that youngpadawan.

I think I would watch an entire movie of Fassbender running. I have this thing about running.

Also, in the Subway scene? Seriously? CAPTAIN VON TRAPP. Does no-one else see this?!

I should be making notes, as this is good advice on preparing supplies for an number of activities: participatory movie experiences, zombie apocalypse, corporate team building exercises....

I love how the soundtrack is just soaring violins and heavy breathing. SOLD.

My sister wanted to go to this but I tuned out at 'limited release' and 'won an award at Blah Blah..." but that trailer? And Fassbender? Why didn't she just say so at the beginning?

Posted by: ugh god at October 14, 2011 3:44 PM

Woah.

Posted by: grace b at October 14, 2011 8:34 PM

There's a lot of ladybits and lube-related talk on Pajiba today. I'm a little bit uncomfortable with this atmosphere.

Posted by: Uriah Creep at October 14, 2011 10:01 PM

Nah, I'm just kidding. Lube away, ladies!

Posted by: Uriah Creep at October 14, 2011 10:49 PM

I hate to be "that person" but I just don't really think that Fassbender is hot. He looks kinda old to me... Give me Gosling!

Posted by: jessididla at October 14, 2011 10:51 PM

That was so damn sexy. I want to trade places with Nicole Beharie. So, it can be me Fassbender's throwing on the bed in the trailer instead of her. I can't wait to see this.

gosling looks like a boy Fassbender is a man

Posted by: dani at October 15, 2011 7:58 AM

Yeah, Fassbender don't do it for me (neither does Gosling). That fool needs some sun.
