Emily DiPrimio is the 13-year-old daughter of Ron DiPrimio. The father-daughter pair have been working together on horror films since Emily was four. Now the seasoned veteran is ready to co-write and co-direct her first horror feature: Carver

Carver is about a group of teenagers who are haunted by a despicable act they committed on Halloween when they were younger. Their actions caused the deaths of three innocent people. Now, on the anniversary of those deaths, an ominous calling card in the form of a carved pumpkin has been placed at each of their homes. Someone is out for revenge. The question is…who?

Carver takes elements from the great slasher films of the past and morphs them into one thrilling story. We know Freddy, Jason, and Michael are the killers in their respective films. While Scream, My Bloody Valentine, and The Prowler keep you guessing as to who the killer may be. In Carver, we introduce a menacing unstoppable killer, but no one will know who is under the mask until the climactic scene.”

The Kickstarter page for the duo requests $25,000 for the venture. As of this writing, the DiPrimio fund is up to $13,276 and there are 11 days left to meet their goal. For as little as $1, you can help fund a creative venture and start what may well be the beginning of a beautiful career in horror for a young lady.

Comments Are Welcome, Jerks Will Be Banned

Cynical me: Dad uses kid as cute hook to make his own horror film.

Optimistic me: Horror can always use fresh faces.

Budget me: What can I donate to be generous yet not stupid?

  • Joshie Pants

I donated. The story behind it was cute and while yeah it is hard to come up with a non derivative horror story, I'm a sucker for DIY low budget horror movies like this. Thanks to Jodi for bringing it to my attention.

  • Veronica

LOL are there seriously no comments to this or is there something wrong with Disqus?

Ok, I'll comment. Though adorable that a 13 year old wants to direct her own horror movie, it in no way inspires me to give her money to do so. Also, that is the plot of I Know What You Did Last Summer...so No.

    Someone seems butthurt.
