Wizard, Doctor, Vampire Hunter
I know the new Doctor is pretty good, but a lot of you are still jonesing to see more David Tennant. His pilot didn't get picked up, but that doesn't mean you won't be seeing him soon.
He'll be joining the cast of the Fright Night remake in the role originally played by Roddy McDowall, albeit slightly reimagined so he's a horror themed magician, rather than a television star. That sounds a little dumb but it's a pretty great cast, now that I look at it.
Anton Yelchin will be playing Charlie Brewster, a kid who thinks his neighbor is a vampire. Colin Farrell will be the neighbor, Jerry Dandridge (total vampire name). Toni Collette is his mom who falls for the vampire and Christopher Mintz-Plasse manages to get another role where he plays the exact same nerd. His agent must be amazing.
I really like Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell. Yelchin channeled Matthew Broderick in Charlie Bartlett and he was great as Chekhov (Cue BarbadoSlim rant). Colin Farrell was amazing in In Bruges and maybe you ladies have other reasons for liking him. I don't know. If we're lucky, he'll keep his Irish brogue. If we're really lucky, Tennant will sound like The Doctor. I think he does a passable American accent, though. So we'll likely be hearing that.
One last thing- I'm doing Eloquent Eloquence this week, so you guys should really be clever. Just think, these will be the comments I read twice as much. (Shameless Self Promotion.)
