'Ted 2' Trailer: Is There Any Chance in Hell This Is as Good as the First Movie?

One of my deepest shames is in how much I enjoyed the ridiculously funny Ted, against all my better instincts. For a brief time there, in fact, Ted offered the illusion that Seth MacFarlane could actually be legitimately funny. And then he hosted the Oscars. And then he made A Million Days to Die in the West, and that illusion was shattered.

The trailer for Ted 2, starring Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Seth MacFarlane (as Ted) seems much more in line with A Million Days to Die in the West than the original Ted, which is to say: It goes for a lot of cheap, broad laughs, some of which may inadvertently hit. In either respect, I think the novelty has worn off on the foul-mouthed talking teddy bear.
