Watch Bill Murray Drop A Blitzkrieg Of F-Bombs In John Goodman's Amazon Pilot, "Alpha House"

As Josh over on UPROXX noted last week, Bill Murray has a cameo role in John Goodman's Amazon show, one of 14 pilots that they put up for viewers to sample. The pilot is Doonesbury author Garry Trudeau's Alpha House, which is about four senators -- Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy, and Mark Consuelos -- living in a house together. I haven't seen the pilot yet, but after watching Bill Murray rattle off a series of F-bombs ahead of his character's arrest, it's first on my television watching agenda.

Check out the f*#@$% video below. You can watch all of Amazon's pilots, including Alpha House, here.

What do I need to do to get Murray to cameo in my life?

Is he supposed to look like Armistead Maupin?

This was actually good comedic swearing. So often writers think that just throwing in a few fuck is enough to be funny, but it's not. It's all in the delivery.

I remember that comedy from a few years ago, the one where Tom Cruise played some film producer who swore a lot. I don't actually care enough about the movie to look up the name, but I remember people saying that Cruise was so funny, dressed all frumpy and swearing.

But it was only Tom Cruise swearing. It wasn't funny.

Bill Murray's delivery here was ten times funnier than all of Cruise's scenes in that movie. Congratulations.

I actually thought the opposite, that Bill Murray's swearing sounded forced, and therefore not funny. I am a huge Murray fan, so I was disappointed. However, crying while using an electric toothbrush and razor was pretty good.

As for Cruise, it may not have been side-splitting, but at least I bought it:

  • This show and THOSE WHO CAN'T lead the pack as the best of the best Amazon Pilots! I was pleasantly surprised with Zombieland, meaning it wasn't absolute dogshit, but it was a poor, poor, poor man's attempt at adapting a great film.

I envy the cynicism it must have taken to be pleasantly surprised with the Zombieland pilot. I'm pretty sure even Amazon's mom was embarrassed by that one.
