Back in February, there was an accident on the set of the movie Midnight Rider that killed camera assistant Sarah Jones. Last night 20/20 showed footage from the cab of the train that struck the set mere moments before the actual accident, and interviewed people from that production as well as others who knew Sarah. They also looked into director Randall Miller’s history of “stealing” shots, or putting cast or crews in potentially dangerous situations in order to get the shot he wanted. You can read the full write up of the episode at The Hollywood Reporter, but here’s some segments from the show. This one features the video from the train cab of the crew rushing off the tracks as the train approaches and hits the bed set up on the trestle.

And here’s video that includes footage of Randall Miller testifying in the civil suit brought against him due to Sarah’s death, as well as reporting on the ways the film industry paid tribute to her after her death.
