Why is it everyone but Marvel realizes they’re making a mistake not jumping on a Black Widow solo film right now? Kevin Feige’s Phase III lineup announcement may have had a glaring omission, but Black Widow comic writer Nathan Edmondson wasn’t put off — he simply started writing a script. And what a beginning it is; with barely a disguised introduction, Natasha Romanoff is off scaling buildings, setting up a clandestine meeting, and kicking ass all over the place. Edmondson’s jump into action will immediately pull you right in:

You’ll want to continue reading at Edmondson’s site; that is, until you reach page 6, where the writer reveals he’s leaving it up to someone else to finish:

“…and like, a whole movie of Black Widow stuff and hell-yeah moments and gunplay and subertuge and a romantic arc and etc, etc, etc… someone get on it, already.”

(*subterfuge?)

Yeah, someone get on that — say uh…you, Marvel?
