The Whiz Kids had won it…

Season Premieres / Seth Freilich

Trade News | September 29, 2008 | Comments (12)

Last week covered the gamut for season premieres, from the wonderfully entertaining (“The Office”) to the ST-diseased (“Knight Rider”). This week, there are a couple of good shows coming back, but the highlights of the week have nothing to do with any of ‘em. Nope, the must watch TV this week is Thursday night’s VP debate and, more importantly, the Philadelphia Phillies’ playoff run!

Monday (9/29): “Chuck” (NBC, 8 pm) and “Life (NBC, 10 pm).

Tuesday (9/30): “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” (HellTV MTV, 10 pm).

Wednesday (10/1): “Pushing Daisies” (ABC, 8 pm), “Friday Night Lights” (DirecTV, 9 pm), “Private Practice” (ABC, 9 pm) and “Dirty Sexy Money” (ABC, 10 pm).

Thursday (10/2): No premieres to speak of, so TiVo whatever else you watch so that you can see the debacle that is Sarah Palin, live.

Friday (10/3): “Everybody Hates Chris” (The CW, 8 pm), “Ghost Whisperer” (CBS, 8 pm), “Wife Swap” (ABC, 8 pm), “The Game” (The CW, 8:30 pm), “The Ex List” (CBS, 9 pm), “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” (Cartoon Network, 9 pm), “Supernanny” (ABC, 9 pm) and “Numb3rs” (CBS, 10 pm).

Saturday (10/4): Nada.

Sunday (10/5): “Valentine” (The CW, 8 pm) and “Easy Money” (The CW, 9 pm).

I'll blame watching "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" on the kids.

Fuck the rest of these shows...there's a new episode of "Heroes" on tonight.

Also, the Duggars have a reality show premiering on TLC at 10pm, I think. God I love those crazy Christians.

Thankfully, the BREWERS playoff run starts Wednesday afternoon. So no Pushing Daisies DVRing is necessary.

Looking forward to "Life," as Damian Lewis is in my top 5 freebie list. Yum!

Jeezus that's bad. I may catch one episode of Star Wars if only for the fact that whenever I make my own way to Los Angeles, I hope rights are available so that I may do proper justice to a Mace Windu warrior Jedi movie. I'm one of those that pretends anything abominable in the Jedi Universe simply does not exist. Like the opposite of Sith and slightly resembling of Wookie minus the height.

I caught the slew of Sunday night premieres by staying up way too late for just television, and I can say that aside from lukewarm approval for Californication, it looks like I might be upping my Netflix plan. I still have not given up on True Blood but we're still waiting for it to get going. However, last night's episode was better than the rest of them.

Chris Rock's Kill The Messenger was pretty good.

I feel like I owe somebody something because of how happy the Phillies have made me. Maybe I'll watch the Paris Hilton show so I don't feel indebted to society at large.

Best. Text message. Ever.

From Julie:
"You know...I hate when baseball season ends because it means I can no longer say 'Sac bunt.'"

Dammit, I have so much to catch up on. But I don't know if I should just give up on "Heroes". I can't bring myself to enjoy it anymore. That The Fly "homage"? Awful. And making the latin girl the sluttiest slut from Slutemala was just mean.
