Kick Ass!

Season Premieres / Seth Freilich

Trade News | October 6, 2008 | Comments (21)

The majority of new shows have now rolled out, although Thursday has quite a few newbies. The best thing this week has going for it on the premiere front is “South Park” and “The Sarah Silverman Program.” But the best thing this week really has going for it is the mother fucking Phillies in the mother fucking NLCS! Whatever with all the rest….

Tuesday (10/7): “Gavin & Stacey” (BBC America, 8:40 pm) and “Dirty Jobs” (Discovery, 9 pm).

Wednesday (10/8): “South Park” (Comedy Central, 10 pm) and “The Sarah Silverman Program” (Comedy Central, 10:30 pm, although it moves to Thursdays starting on October 9).

Thursday (10/9): “Kath & Kim” (NBC, 8 pm), “CSI” (CBS, 9 pm), “SNL Weekend Update Thursday” (NBC, 9:30 pm), “Eleventh Hour” (CBS, 10 pm), “Life on Mars” (ABC, 10 pm) and “Testees” (FX, 10:30 pm).

Sunday (10/12): “Rock of Love Girls: Charm School” (VH1, 9 pm … are you fucking kidding me with this shit?) and “Skins” (BBC America, 10 pm).

I have to hate the Phillies, I do believe it's required of anyone married to a Mets fan.

FUCK THE PHILLIES

BSlim, I think I love you. Let's make a few mistakes.

SNL Weekend update Thursdays could be very good...or it could administer one of the finishing blows to a franchise-within-a-franchise that has had considerable ups and downs

How come no review on 'Sons of Anarchy'?

Baseball is the most involved and expensive form of sleep therapy in the world. Give me a bottle of Nyquil and a bucket of chicken and I'm good.

I'm almost scared of a new season of Sarah Silverman. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the show. But have you seen her constant political mugging for TMZ's cameras. Sure, her Great Schlep campaign is funny, but I hope the political stuff doesn't take over the series.

I mean, how can she top when she became the world's most renown AIDS activist only to receive negative test results?

Big thumbs up for both Skins. America wishes it had such a great show about teenage life. Oh wait, it does. Friday Night Lights. But we all know that's on the chopping block.

Gavin & Stacey is great but I'm not sure all the humour will cross over. Who really makes fun of the Welsh outside of the UK? Even still, most Pajibites will like it, I'm sure.

Skins and Gavin & Stacey are both brilliant. Seriously - set your TiVo.

I've been wondering about the Pajiba review for Sons of Anarchy myself. Here's my take:

Unpleasant white trash criminals doing unpleasant things. The only reason the show is watchable is the cast is excellent, especially Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman. It's decent but right now I'm sticking it with it out of morbid curiosity to see how far it is going to go more than anything. And Jay Karnes (Dutch from The Shield)has shown up as a fed with an ax to grind so it's fun to see him in a nastier role then we're used to.

Stupid being poor. I always miss Thursday nights now. Not only The Office but now It's Always Sunny, This SNL deal, AND I have a little hope for Testees if that's not so wrong. Why can't I live outside my means and just buy a Tivo?

How long has Skins been on BBC America? I've been Youtubing that bitch for no reason!?? Whatthafoof!!!

yeah, the Sons of Anarchy is my coworker's fav show right now. he got me to watch a little bit on hulu.com and now I think I may catch up and keep up.

I mean Peggy Bundy, come on. Perlman i like as well

Awww. Slim, you know the way to a woman's heart is bitter and ultimately empty gestures towards their sports teams.

Love 'Skins'. Love 'Gavin and Stacey'. LOOOOVE 'Top Gear'. I fall asleep to 'Graham Norton' reruns every night. I Really love the English to English subtitles on 'Skins'. That cracks my shit up.
And don't even get me started on 'Doctor Who'. I don't think I could live without BBC America.

I like Harvey Keitel, but I hope Life on Mars goes down in flames faster that Viva Laughlin! did. The odds are good, given that 1) Jason O'Mara sounds like a damn robot because he's working so hard to hide his Irish lilt and 2) Lisa-freakin'-Bonet. 'Nuff said.
