Perhaps I should feel badly about it, but I truly have no desire to see James Mangold's The Wolverine when it hits theaters July 26, 2013. A trust was broken and I will need the assurances of a trusted reviewer (like TK) before I will entrust my precious time with another Wolvie-only movie. You can be excited about this motion poster. Be my guest! First, enjoy this synopsis of the movie:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

One of those lights say Wolverine in Japanese Katakana. But nothing in that picture says modern day Japan, at all. Eff you again Hollywood.

  • Kenshiro70

Actually, that's Tokyo Tower in the background.

If only they would stop trying to make money off Wolverine, and turn their focus to some more marketable X-Men. I mean really, who doesn't want to see Dazzler: The Motion Picture? Or a big screen *debut of Jubilee?

*unless she was in the other Wolverine movie, which I couldn't force myself to watch

I've been wondering for years why there has been no talk about "Dazzler: The Movie." IMO, "Motion Picture" is too fancy. You'd think Jessica Simpson's people would be all over it. She must still have people, right? Because she's still showing up?

Has the speed of light suddenly slowed down to the point that rain moves faster?

  • Paultera

Are they saying that samurai steel is lethal to him? Because...no.

    TK...O'd?

  • I am really sick of these emo, "gritty" superhero movies. Can't we just have some fun and kick some ass? Go ahead and attack me and tell me that I just "don't understand" or that I "don't want to think when I watch a movie". That's not the case at all. There is always room for a little introspection. But please, enough with the heroes on the verge of tears all the time. I think one of the reasons Avengers did so well was because it was fun. This does not look fun.

  • Manly Bowler

Ah, you want a "fun" superhero movie. May I introduce you to "Batman Forever"? Wonderful popcorn movie, absence of grittyness guaranteed.

And a bad one at that. The design is okay. The implementation is terrible.
