The Trailer for Martin McDonagh's Follow-Up to In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, Makes Me Wanna Rockwell Dance

Oh wow, oh wow. Where did this come from. I didn't even realize Seven Psychopaths was being made, and suddenly, it has jumped to the top of my must-see list this year. Dark, violent comedy, Sam Rockwell, Colin Farrell, CHRISTOPHER WALKEN, Tom Waits, Harry Dean Stanton, and Woody Harrelson? And the whole, seedy violent plot is provoked by a alcoholic screenwriter accidentally stealing a gangster's beloved Shih Tzu. It's got all the hallmarkts of McDonagh's brilliant, In Bruges, which was named one of the 20 best films of the last decade by our staff.

Watch the trailer. Bask.

    Looks like cinematic perfection

  • Here's my pure, unadulterated anticipation served on a hot, butter-warmed spoon.

  • I_Sell_Books

    Yess!

  • Lonolove

Why isn't Sam Rockwell in everything?
Also, I believe McDonagh did a play on Broadway with Walken and Rockwell...A Behanding in Spokane, I think it was? Sad to have missed it...

  • David Sorenson

I don't think I can watch this movie. I just don't. Trailer is funny. I think I fell in love with it the moment I read the cast. It's just too much. It would ruin every other movie. Sure I'd go to the theater and watch other films, but I'd just gaze up to the heavens and wistfully sigh, thinking of that one movie that made me experience happiness pure and true.

Yes I'd technically be gazing at the ceiling of the theater I was in, but there's gum up there and something I'm pretty sure is a pencil. There's no romance in that.

  • Bandit

I didn't entirely get what was going on, but I know I want to watch this. Walken, Harrelson and Farrell?! Fuck yes!

  • Lauren_Lauren

    Yes yes yes yes YES.

  • melissa82

Wow, I think this is my new favorite movie. I don't even care if the rest is shit, I'll just watch the trailer again and be happy.

  • BendinIntheWind

Dear god. I am so, SO in. Colin Farrell's reaction shots during the blood/puke bit are pure gold.

  • SillyCecil

Not only do I want to take this trailer behind the middle school and get it pregnant, I also want to cuddle with it after

  • Nadine

....Nah, no way I'm the only hoping for some gratuitous shirtlessness from Rockwell and Farell? Ideally while together. In the same shower.

  • Nadine

Whelp, that's clearly the greatest thing ever.

  • Odnon.

This trailer made me get off my ass and get a disqus ID so I could comment on how much I love this movie and want it to move in with me.

  • KatSings

I love McDonagh. All of his writing. If you haven't read his plays, especially Pillowman, GO FORTH. Pillowman is not really funny at all, but so so good. I own everything he's written and it's my goal to be in one of his plays/movies one day.

  • darknessdisgrace

The Pillowman is very dark, and very beautiful...but it's also hilarious!

  • Nadine

    Pillowman!

  • TheOriginalMRod

Oh yeah! Puppy dogs, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, and Tom Waits... oh my!

  • "What do you think we should we do in REAL LIFE"

    "It doesn't make any sense"

    "too bad"

    Ahahahahaha. Ahahahaha!

  • Tinkerville

As a Shih-tzu owner/In Bruges fanatic/Rockwell fangirl this trailer made me so happy I could die. Thank you, Rowles. From the bottom of my heart.

  • Magiel

Best trailer I've seen in years, even the trailer is layercake.

  • BrassCupcake

I had actually heard about this movie, but the trailer actually makes it look funny. I will have to check this out just to see how one scene can handle Walken, Waits, and Rockwell....too much strangely awesome for one movie.

  • BWeaves

In Bruges made me like Colin Farrell.

Also, where did this movie come from?

I actually have a hard on to see this movie, and I don't even have a penis.

  • Uriah_Creep

My lions are moistened, and I don't even have lions.

  • Rooks

This comment becomes situational humour gold once you realize that "Shi Tzu" is chinese for "lion"....

  • Uriah_Creep

I wish I could say I knew that at the time of my post, but I did not. It is gold, though.

  • AND TOM WAITS! SWEET BABY JESUS! AND TOM WAITS!

  • Ted Zancha

Can't watch the trailer at work, but your description and list of the cast has me sold.

  • Snath

Since In Bruges has one of my absolute favorite characters of all time, I need to see this like NOW. I'm sure it will also be excellent.

  • Snath

Clarification: I know it's not the same Farrell character, but he was just so good.

  • Nadine

Not to mention of late it's like people have remembered he's Irish and that accent is sexy as all get out and so he is being allowed to play Irish!

  • Fredo

Rockwell and Walken. Sharing the same screen space.

    Awesome. Must watch.
