The Queen's Guard Performs a Pretty Epic Rendition of the 'Game of Thrones' Theme Song

By Cindy Davis | Trade News | July 20, 2014 | Comments ()

Hot damn, some fortunate tourists caught the Queen’s Guard playing the Game of Thrones theme song during the changing of the guard. Luckily for us, someone caught it on tape, and it’s pretty epic. Enjoy!

via Metro…who seem unimpressed; “The Irish Guards regiment managed to make the already fairly grim music sound even more stuffy.”) Hmpf.

I have never seen GoT because I don't have HBO...or own a TV...and I'm really paranoid about downloading a virus on accident while trying to get free TV. I know, I'm an idiot. I did try to read the first book recently, and I quit about halfway through. Is there any reason to keep going? Does it get better? It just felt like a dirty soap opera to me. Like, it might be fun to watch on TV, but it was pretty trashy reading, and the fact that there were so many more books to go kind of demotivated me.

Its worth getting through, the first book is alright, but it gets better, especially when you pick a favorite character. And the show is pretty damn fantastic. And circumvents Martins sometimes meandering writing style.

I've been picking through it a bit more. A chapter at a time when I don't feel like reading my other book. Picking a fav character is good advice. Thanks.

I don't like the books, but I love the TV series. I like the story, I just don't like Martin's writing style.

  • I hope this was a prank to see if they could get their comrades to crack a smile. That would explain why it was a little off; it would be hard to practice and keep this secret.

The Rainbow Guard's version is much more fun.

  • BWeaves

That was actually rather lackluster. I give whoever was in charge of picking the music points for having balls, though.

Maybe they thought they were playing Rains of Castamere.

If i was the queen i think id view this as a mild threat from the guard. She might need to replace the head of the guard and kill a few to let em know to not fuck around with her.

It's only a threat if they play Rains of Castamere.
