The first image from Magic Mike XXL has hit the internet, and, sadly, it’s severely lacking in expected dongs.

Now here’s the twist in that tweet: It comes from the account @bitchuation (superb handle, that one), which belongs to the camera op, Peter Andrews. The thing about Andrews, though, is that’s he’s totally fictional.

THR tipped the true identity of @Bitchuation/Peter Andrews, reporting that this wasn’t some over-eager slate manner or assistant camera op who shared the first pic from the much anticipated sequel. It was Steven Soderbergh himself.

Soderbergh may have “retired” from directing, but his Tyler Durden stand-in hasn’t. So Bergh’s long-time AD Gregory Jacobs gets a directing credit, and we all get a Steven Soderbergh movie. Win-win, yeah?
