The First Picture of Peter Dinklage in X-Men: Days of Future Past Is Apparently NOT a Joke

I don’t care how much candy he offers you, kids, do not get into a van with this man. Allegedly, that is Peter Dinklage, who is playing Bolivar Trask, the creator of the mutant-hunting Sentinel robots in the X-Men universe.

Here’s a corporate promotional video for Trask Industries, which informs us that the company is the forerunner in mutant annihilation.

Here’s some pictures of the Sentinels, which are created by Trask Industries to root out the mutants.

They have been very important throughout the last 50 years, as you can see here.

Here’s Trask, looking through a microscope. Apparently, he’s formulating a recipe for irresistible candy to lure children into his van.

The first thing that popped into my head after seeing that Trask photo - "Ken, By Request Only"

  • Brown

How is he not Eugene Judd aka Puck?

  • Helo

I'm dying to know how Bolivar Trask gets retconned from being a 6 foot 4 bald black man government agent from X3 (a complete shitshow, mind you) to a vertically challenged scientist/captain of industry.

  • llp

They just wrote him that way?

  • Still not as bad as Liev Schrieber's mustache was from that post a couple of days ago.

  • Haystacks

What is it about a mustache that seems to say, "I am a sexual deviant. And not in the fun way."

  • Every bit of this is delicious. I love the creepstache, I love the eerie Orwellian vibe of the ad, I'm loving the slightly goofy photos. This is taking the mildly (but fittingly) campy notes of First Class and channeling them in a fun direction without making the mistake of amping it so far up that many shows and movies make.

But if he doesn't have a period specific mustache and glasses to go with his lab coat then how would I KNOW he's a scientist? They're just making it easy on us.

Pajiba: come for the pop culture news; stay for the variations on the same paedophilia joke.

Did you hear the one about how Dinklage looks like he wants to lure children into a van?

  • Fredo

That's actually very late 60s/early 70s. So it makes sense.

Just remember Burt Reynolds' mustache. It was the defining image of the 70s.

  • Maguita NYC

Please. I'm still trying to UNSEE that hairy image that @Koko Temur grafted in my retina.

Peter Dinklage is going to be in Anchorman 2?

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

    He's height-compatible with Lamp.

  • NateMan

I'm good with the updated Sentinel look. All that purple has always been a bit goofy. I agree they could have gone larger, though.

  • JJ

Goofy coloring choices in the X-Men universe!?! How dare you, sir. I challenge you to a duel. Optic blasts at dawn!

  • mairimba

Why did that video make me think of Veridian Dynamics?

  • emmalita

Because Veridian Dynamics propaganda videos are the platonic ideal of propaganda videos.

  • SchmidtUltra

I really thought they'd make the sentinels much larger:

  • JenVegas

Right? Like the size of a building or something.

  • Guest

It's like Matt Damon in The Informant!

Apparently, you can de-hot the Dink ...

  • I am so excited.

  • BWeaves

Wasn't Trask the name of the company Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford were trying to merge in Working Girl?

  • Eva Halloween

  • Stellamaris2012

That's *exactly* what I thought, too!

  • Steph

    Sure was.
