The Creative Arts Emmys were handed out last night, the week before the big Emmys telecast is set to take place. Most of the Creative Arts Emmys go to mundane categories that the larger public doesn’t care that much about, but that are no less deserved by the hardworking, talented choreographers, hairstylists, visual effects artists, cinematographers, etc.
The most exciting winners, I thought, were for Uzu Aduba (Crazy Eyes), who beat our two of her own castmates (Natasha Lyonne, Laverne Cox) to take home the Best Guest Actress in a comedy, while Allison Janney deservedly took home that honor in the drama category. And while Archer fans might feel a twinge of disappointment, even they couldn’t’ be down on Bob’s Burgers winning in the Best Animated series category. Congrats to those guys on a well-deserved win.
Here’s a short list of the winners you guys are most likely to care about. Here’s the full list, if you’re interested.
