Some old-timers to the site may remember that, in 2004, we actually debuted in late June as a political site, featuring mostly liberal political commentary, largely written by myself (badly) and a guy named Ryan Lindsay, who at the time was the boyfriend of Jeremy C. Fox, a long-time movie reviewer here (we also had a conservative writer for a brief time). Until Phillip and Dan came along late that year, we operated as a three-man site. After the election, however, we lost interest in politics (though, I still hack away at it (badly) on Quizlaw), and we turned our attention, exclusively, to pop culture.

Anyway, the point is: For the curious, Ryan Lindsay is now a cast member on a cooking show over on the Food Network. “The Cooking Loft” is basically a cooking class, and Ryan is one of the chef’s students in this seasons’ first seven episodes. Out of curiosity, I actually watched the show over the weekend, and it bored me to tears. But then again, I’m not a foodie and all cooking shows (save for the BBC’s “Kitchen Nightmares” and “Top Chef”) put me immediately to sleep.

Anyway, for the curious, the show airs at 9:30 a.m. EST, Saturdays on the Food Network. Oh, and in the above advert, Ryan is the dimpled guy in the checkered shirt.
