The Climb Is All There Is: "Game of Thrones" Season 3 Gets A Chaotic Trailer

By Jodi Clager | Trade News | February 11, 2013 | Comments ()

I, for one, am simply over the moon with the decision to make television Tyrion's facial scar less ghastly than book Tyrion's deformity. It means I can still swoon over the intense looks, smirking replies, and all-around magnificent acting from Peter Dinklage.

This new trailer features a voiceover from Aidan Gillen and reminds you of all of the players for the upcoming season. As each face graced my screen, I thought about what I know of their futures and I cannot wait to see all of it come to life.

absolutely love the fact i havent read the books....no idea what to expect! Cast is so completely phenomenal that it would ruin things for me if i read them. Roll on April

  • idiosynchronic

Why I do believe that was Mark Sheppard breathlessly rasping into my headphones.

  • jannymac

I can't get over how Tyrion is EVEN MORE attractive with the scar.

  • denesteak

    eeeeeee so excited!!!

  • Fredo

Less than 7 weeks to go....

Honestly, these trailers have been kinda shitty. The one with the ravens flying around the world would have embarrassed a HS AV Club, and this one, while intriguing, feels more like one we'd expect for a series that's still half a year from the air date. We're what, six weeks from the premiere, and there isn't one second of show footage yet available? Enough with the monologues and graphics. Time for a real trailer.

Really surprised its unfolding in this manner, too, because HBO did such a tremendous job with S2 promotion. The posters, the trailers (the later one with Seven Devils as the backing score was phenomenal), the behind-the-scenes featurettes -- all solid. These? Little weak, IMO.

And Joffery's face became even more punchable! The end of March needs to hurry up!

  • MissAmynae

he looks rendered. Like a Final Fantasy character. So good.

  • Captain_Tuttle

Dammit - I need HBO. And to re-read the books.

  • Pretty much foreshadowing in every single frame there.

Can we make a version of the "Django unchained" main theme, but changing the "DJANGOOOOO!" with a "SANDOOOOOR!"?

  • Rocabarra

So underappreciated! The Hound is my favourite character in both show and books! :D

  • Muhnah_Muhnah

I actually feel giddy enough to use the word "giddy"! Maaaybe when we get to season 4, Georgie will see fit to fucking finish the damn books!

  • Leelee

Oh the smirk... did you see the smirk? The Tyrion Smirk does more for me than Thor wearing nothing but low-rise jeans and baby oil.

  • MissAmynae

That smirk sent me racing to my bunk with my phone so i could just watch it on repeat.

Aidan Gillen's voice helps. Fucking Carcetti, man. Who knew?

  • Muhnah_Muhnah

What about Tyrion smirking at Thor wearing nothing but low-rise jeans and baby oil? Good luck getting anything else done today!

  • Leelee

I applaud your imagination. That's... that's some good shit right there.

  • Natallica

That's fanfic worth material right there!
