The Avengers Team-Up In New Character Posters. Meanwhile At SXSW, Joss Whedon Spoils The Spoilers
Like the most recent trailer, there isn't much here we haven't seen before, but there's a certain level of awesomesauce to be found. If you don't mind some poorly applied Fotoshop (by Adobé) that is...
Also taking off on the latest trailer, at a panel during SXSW for Avengers director Joss Whedon answered a question itching on fanboys' collective ass ever since the Internet found out the movie's chief villain Loki would be teaming up with some interstellar alien force -- the whole reason Earth needs to assemble the titular heroes. Pertinently, what the hell is this?
Joss being Joss, he answered merely by saying that the aliens have nothing to do with fan favorites the Skrull or the Kree. (Those links only matter contextually if you're either extremely curious or very, very bored at work.) As a fan of Marvel comics, it is an issue that would certainly temper or elevate my excitement for the movie. MTV's Splashpage makes some guesses as to the identity of the giant flying serpent machine thing, and a couple of them definitely strike my fancy.
But I'm interested to know if this matters to anyone else, because right now I only trust in Whedon, or if you've already bought your ticket -- even if it's just metaphorically.
Rob Payne also writes the indie comic The Unstoppable Force, tweets on the Twitter @RobOfWar, and his ware can be purchased here (if you're into that sort of thing). If Samuel L. Jackson utters the words, "Fin Fang Foom," then he is definitely down.
