We’ll be compiling our own list of the worst ten movies of the decade later this year (based, in part, on reader recommendations) — cause you never know, New Moon or 2012 may make the cut (Plus, we’d likely weed out the extremely obscure).

In the meantime, RottenTomatoes has compiled the worst 100 of the decade, based on their Tomatometer. You can see the entire list here. However, here are their worst 25, with links to our own reviews, where applicable.

Haven't seen a one of them. No future plans to amend that.

Lost in Space really deserves a mention. REALLY.

Posted by: Tracer Bullet at October 1, 2009 3:11 PM

All praise to Godtopus! I haven't seen any of these.

Posted by: The Wanderer at October 1, 2009 3:17 PM

Lost in Space? How about Plan 9 from Outer Space or Heaven's Gate then?

Posted by: laredo at October 1, 2009 3:17 PM

YAY! Never seen any of these. Off to tomatoes to see if I've seen any of the others.

Posted by: Snuggiepants the Deathbringer at October 1, 2009 3:20 PM

The problem I had with the Rotten Tomatoes list is that while the list was made up entirely of cinematic abortions, many of those films, while cinematic abortions themselves, weren't as inducing of hatred as many more deserving candidates.

As for your own list, Dustin, I was wondering, do kids flicks, family comedies, and Christmas movies count, or are they so bad, it would be unfair to the other candidates?

Posted by: George at October 1, 2009 3:21 PM

I thought I saw part of Meet the Spartans on HBO in a hotel near Louisville. Turns out, that's what 300 really looked like. Huh.

But I did see Strange Wilderness. Whatever, we watch all the Happy Madison stuff in the Yossarian household at least once.

Posted by: Yossarian at October 1, 2009 3:32 PM

Wow, I have to admit that I enjoyed the shit out of "The In Crowd" when I was a teenager. No wonder the current landscape of popular cinema is so balls-fucking-retarded... they reflect the level of teenage intellect perfectly (young pajiba readers excluded).

Posted by: Cruise at October 1, 2009 3:33 PM

Damn it, man, I've seen three of those. I can't say that I disagree with the consensus, though.

Posted by: Melodie at October 1, 2009 3:36 PM

'Plan 9 From Outer Space' is kind of like the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'. It is so awful it is awesome.

Posted by: Lindsey with an 'e' at October 1, 2009 3:39 PM

Didn't see any of them.
Not in theaters, on cable or DVD.
I have Pajiba to thank for missing a goodly number of them.
Best damn movie reviews in the universe, right here, folks.

Posted by: Spender at October 1, 2009 3:41 PM

Plan 9 isn't included because the rottentomatoes list is the top 100 worst of the DECADE. So anything before 2000 doesn't count.

Posted by: Mark at October 1, 2009 3:41 PM

Ok, I've seen one and only one of these..... Disaster Movie I hate to admit it, but it was pretty funny. Seeing even a fake Miley Cyrus get crushed by a meteor provided a rush of joy that could only be topped by the REAL Miley Cyrus getting crushed by a meteor.

Posted by: dammitjanet at October 1, 2009 3:49 PM

I'm glad I never saw any of these. It makes me feel good.

Posted by: chenry at October 1, 2009 3:50 PM

Lost In Space was 1998. I remember not just because of who I was with and where I was when I saw it, but also because it holds the notable distinction of being the answer to the trivia question: What movie finally knocked Titanic out of the weekly box office number one spot?

Posted by: DarthCorleone at October 1, 2009 3:52 PM

Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider. A million times Ghost Rider.

Posted by: Optimus Rhyme at October 1, 2009 3:53 PM

My ex was on a kick about us only seeing movies that I wanted to see, so I let him pick. He picked Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever because he thought I had a thing for Antonio Banderas. To this day, I cannot tell you what the movie was about except that Lucy Liu's stunt double rode the hell out of a motorcylce.

Posted by: Carolina Girl at October 1, 2009 3:54 PM

I can't believe Giant Octopus vs. Mega Shark didn't make the cut. Caught it on cable a couple weeks ago, and it's the epitome of truly terrible cinema. Maybe since it went straight to DVD it doesn't count.

Posted by: MonkeyBoy at October 1, 2009 3:58 PM

I think Ecks vs. Sever is right where it belongs. That movie is such a disappointment, it should have been all kinds of awesome.

Posted by: Snath at October 1, 2009 3:59 PM

Killing Me Softly R-A-U-X (I use the obnoxious "raux" because "rocks" simply doesn't do it justice). If you like gloriously bad-awesome gloss-candy like Showgirls, Wild Things, and Femme Fatale, Killing Me Softly is a must-see. It's right up there. It's a gem. Couldn't be more removed from stuff like Daddy Day Camp. For shame.

Posted by: Natural 20 at October 1, 2009 4:00 PM

Did anyone here see Constellation? I have a weakness for Gabrielle Union, but I heard this movie was awful.

How High, My Baby's Daddy, and The Stepford Wives get my votes for worst picture(s) ever.

Posted by: Brie at October 1, 2009 4:03 PM

I get in line with the haven't-seen-any-of-them- crew... we should be mighty proud of ourselves!
Of the other 75 in the 100-worst-movies-list I've only seen 5 and only enjoyed 2 for all the wrong reasons (say, Uwe Boll... nearly asphyxiated laughing... aaand, yeah. Taylor Kitsch's speedos.) - I take that says something positive about me. Yay me!
Enough self-adulation. Lets go back to bashing movies. Yay us!

Posted by: Padame at October 1, 2009 4:04 PM

The entire list is something to behold, especially considering that Battlefield Earth doesn't even crack the worst 25 and The Hottie and the Nottie doesn't make the worst 65.

Posted by: branded at October 1, 2009 4:18 PM

I don't think we should even bother listing anything spoof-ish on this list, it just clutters things up. Meet the Spartans and it's ilk are keeping movies like 88 Minutes from claiming their rightful spot on this list.

Posted by: Xtreme at October 1, 2009 4:24 PM

This list is bullshit. "Hostel" is nowhere to be found. I call shenanigans.

Posted by: TylerDFC at October 1, 2009 4:45 PM

I haven't seen any of these, but out of the other 75 I've seen 4.

And that header pic... eeeuuurgh.

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at October 1, 2009 5:42 PM

I've seen number 1 and number 2. Do I win a prize?

Posted by: MM at October 1, 2009 5:52 PM

This is the worst film of the decade. Lost in Space doesn't qualify.

Posted by: Paul D at October 1, 2009 6:04 PM

i've seen Ballistic and while it is bad, really bad, it's not so awful or despicable, or loathsome to earn the title Worst of the Decade. It's too Meh inducing for that. It's inept, incomprehensible, completely lacking in story, boring, cliched, fails to deliver on the Vs part of the title, but the movie's biggest crime is lack of excitement. When it should have been leaving oodles of teenage boys with wet, cum-stained crotches from spontaneous bad-assery-induced orgasms, it instead left them dozing. The Worst film should be much more loathsome, offensive and rage inducing than this.

Calling it the worst is giving too high praise.

Posted by: blair at October 1, 2009 6:18 PM

I've only heard of a handful on that list, and seen none. Woohoo! I feel so clean!

Posted by: Minty at October 1, 2009 6:22 PM

I was onboard with Lost in Space until the little shrieking space monkey showed up. The yellow one, not Lacey Chabert.

Posted by: laredo at October 1, 2009 6:38 PM

Dear God, Optimus, you are so right.
Ghost Rider was so bad, my bf and I walked out on the last 10 minutes. I normally will stick out any kind of trash to get my $10 worth, but Doug leaned over just before the big finale and asked, "do you really care how this ends?" and I had to answer, "let me grab my purse.".

Posted by: malechai at October 1, 2009 6:51 PM

The only one of these I've seen is #1. My brain. It must have been particularly terrible because I don't remember anything about it, at all.

Posted by: the_wakeful at October 1, 2009 7:05 PM

Halloween 2, rob zombie's version, add it NOW!

Posted by: glittergirl at October 1, 2009 7:18 PM

And now I demand that you review each and every single one of the movies on that list that doesn't have a Pajiba review attached to it. DEMAND!

Posted by: figgy at October 1, 2009 7:41 PM

What, no Centipede?

btw - Would Godtopus' nemesis be Centipus?

Posted by: Odnon at October 1, 2009 7:56 PM

My favorite example of the shittiness of Ghost Rider is when generic leading girl says something off-screen, the camera cuts to her, and she's standing in the doorway...

Neck down. Seriously. They included the neck, and the boobs, and the midriff, and the legs, and probably the feet, and decided that's all they needed for that shot.

I wish I was high.

Posted by: JakesAlterEgo at October 1, 2009 7:57 PM

I second Zombie's H2. Horrific.

Posted by: Lia at October 1, 2009 8:01 PM

I've seen a quarter of the movies on the full 100 list and I'm just fine.

Monkey Boy-

Re. Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, I don't think it counts if the the movie was intended to be bad. There's some cheesy fun there. But if the movie genuinely thinks it's being cool and clever - like Ghost Rider - and turns out as bad as that movie did, that's much more embarassing for all involved.

By the way, my favourite part of Ghost Rider was Ghost Rider getting stabbed in the shoulder and Johnny Blaze being wounded there when he reverted to human form, establishing that Blaze maintains any injury that Ghost Rider sustains... then Ghost Rider shrugs off a ridiculous hail of gunfire from the police later without a mention.

Internal logic be damned!

Posted by: Daniel Hall at October 1, 2009 10:45 PM

That was '98? Shit. It was just so scarring that I thought I'd been fored to sit through it more recently.

How is it that Daredevil has gone unmentioned? Affleck makes Peyton Manning look lith and graceful and that movie was so dumb it . . . it . . . FUCK, it was dumb.

Posted by: Tracer Bullet at October 1, 2009 11:25 PM

Proud to say I havn't seen any of those films.

@Tracer Bullet - Lost in Space is a really fun film, can't believe you would want that anywhere near a worst list.

Posted by: Jon at October 2, 2009 12:18 PM

I tried to watch ALONE IN THE DARK but it was too awful. I gave up 20 min in.

Posted by: cmr at October 2, 2009 4:09 PM

The Hottie and The Nottie!!! How is it not on this list??

5% on Rotten Tomatoes, 7 out of 100 on Metacritic. Had the second worst opening weekend of all time(Delgo is first, it's also not on your list), averaging a mere $249 per theatre for the weekend. That means with 3 showings per day at the 111 theatres it played at, there was only an average of 7 people watching this piece of crap each time it played. it won 2 Golden Raspberries and was nominated for 5. It is hands down one of the worst movies of all time, let alone the past decade.

I would also suggest you take a look at adding "The Love Guru" as well.

Posted by: Steve L at October 2, 2009 7:14 PM

these lists are fucking stupid. too subjective for the internet.

Posted by: Erik at October 3, 2009 3:28 AM

I would suggest nominating "America's Sweethearts" to your list, but if you haven't seen it, I can forgive you for passing over it. I keep waiting for science to invent eye bleach so I can finally erase all memory of Billy Crystal getting a blowjob from a Doberman.

Actually suprised so few Pajibans have seen it, as John Cusak is one of the stars, but then again if you are still John Cusak fans, overlooking this movie is an absolute necessity.

Posted by: Irving Washington at October 3, 2009 6:53 PM

"Mission to Mars" should be on this list. So bad, so very, very bad. It was to the 2000's, what Congo was to the 90's.

Posted by: David at October 3, 2009 11:51 PM

couldnt agree more

Posted by: ne0 at October 6, 2009 9:19 AM

What, no Dragonball Evolution?
