That "We Just Dodged a Bullet" Feeling

I know that you should be sick of reading about who will be playing the X-Men by now. I'm a huge nerd and I barely even care. But I was just talking about the upcoming X-Men: First Class last night and now AICN is telling me that they "One Hundred Percent" have a Cyclops.

What man will rock the ruby-quartz sunglasses? Kick-Ass's Aaron Johnson.

I immediately thought it was wrong because he doesn't seem like he could play the strong leader role but then I remembered that this is kind of an origin story. He'll be a young Scott Summers who can't control his powers yet. If they're looking for an insecure and awkward Cyclops, I think they nailed it.

But that's not what my title was about. The "dodged a bullet" feeling came from the rumor that Shark Boy Taylor Lautner would be playing Hank McCoy. (I like that he played Shark Boy and then grew up to look so sharky. He's got those eyes. Like doll's eyes.)

I don't think I have to explain how wrong this would be. The answer is very.

E! claims that Lautner's people have completely denied it and the real name being tossed around now is a fella named Benjamin Walker who is more of a stage actor; he's best known for starring in "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson". I don't know much about him but I like him already. Beast has always been a bit theatrical and I trust Matthew Vaughn.

Tons of rumors are flying around about the different First Classers but I don't think I've heard a peep about Iceman or Angel. Any suggestions for a qualified candidate? Adam Lyon for Iceman? What? Stop, I'm blushing!
