'Tammy' Teaser: Melissa McCarthy Knows No Shame, and Thank God For It

Melissa McCarthy’s track record as a leading comedic actress so far has been spotty — Bridesmaids and The Heat were great, while Identity Thief was decidedly not — but even in Identity Thief, McCarthy left it all on the screen, even in some cases her dignity. McCarthy’s performances are like drunken nights out on the dance floor: A lot of fun, but you don’t want to see the pictures on Instagram the next morning.

Her next is a road-trip comedy, Tammy, about a woman who loses her job, finds out her husband is being unfaithful, and hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother (Susan Sarandon), looks to be much of the same, only even more shameless. McCarthy co-wrote it with her husband, Ben Falcone, who also directs, and based on the crocs in the teaser alone, we can assume that McCarthy will find a way to stoop to new lows, and thank God for it.

But Dustin, you ask? Why is it funny when Melissa McCarthy does it, but not when Kevin James does the exact same thing? Because REASONS, that’s why. Now be quiet and hit play.
