Out of the mainframe and into the android synthezoid? Paul Bettany, who has voiced J.A.R.V.I.S. in all three Iron Man and The Avengers films, has just been cast as Ultron’s (James Spader) creation, The Vision.

Some are speculating this development obviously opens up the idea that J.A.R.V.I.S. will have a hand…er…connection in The Vision’s creation, which could be an interesting twist on the comic history. Comic canon also has The Vision romantically involved with Scarlet Witch (who’ll be played by Elizabeth Olsen in the upcoming Whedonganza).

The Avengers: Age of Ultron features all the returning regulars, plus Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, and the Spader.
