SXSW announced their lineup of feature films today, and in addition to a spectacular lineup that includes Duncan Jones’ (Moon) opening night film, Source Code, James Gunn’s Super, and Greg Mottola’s alien road trip comedy, Paul, starring Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, and Seth Rogen, the festival will also play host to several members of Pajiba. This year, we will be in full spectacular force in Austin; at last count, seven regular staffers will be in attendance. Dan is even hosting a film panel, You Are Not a Publicist: Criticism vs. Advertising, that you folks help get voted in, and I’ll be sitting on a panel hosted by Cinematical regular and sometimes Pajiba contributor, William Goss, The Blogger Centipede: How Content is Eroding Credibility. There might even be yelling!

If you’re in town, and would like to plan a trip to SXSW this year, you can check out the website for details and follow us on Twitter to get updates on our whereabouts and social outings with various Eloquents, if you’re so interested.

For a full list of the feature films playing at this year’s SXSW film festival, check out the website. Here are some of the highlights:

Hesher
Director: Spencer Susser, Writers: Spencer Susser & David Michôd

LALALALAALALALALALALALAAAAA.

Once AGAIN, my college's spring break falls the week BEFORE the week of SXSW. I may end up in Austin anyways (let's hope) but...sniff...SXSW will have to wait for another year..

I'm most likely going to NXNE to make up for it though.

Yay Canada!

SWEET. I don't think I can afford to go to any shows, but I'll definitely meet up with Pajibans.

Posted by: Figgy at February 2, 2011 7:05 PM

Next year, Austin, I'm coming for you!

Posted by: The_wakeful at February 2, 2011 7:07 PM

GAWL. Texas ALWAYS gets the Pajiban meet-ups. LIFE IS HARD.

Posted by: Pinky McLadybits at February 2, 2011 7:08 PM

I would love to make up for my abbreviated appearance last time, but that's getting awfully close to when the baby comes...

Posted by: Eep at February 2, 2011 7:17 PM

The Beaver is a highlight? I hope you're talking about AvB.

Posted by: Cindy at February 2, 2011 7:26 PM

The correct word is Pajibacon.

Hard to believe you got it wrong considering you were there for the coining.

AKA Paji'bacon, 'bacon, orignating from PajiBacon East.

Posted by: PissBoy at February 2, 2011 7:32 PM

I'll be there! Can't wait to finally meet you guys. :)

Posted by: Mebe at February 2, 2011 8:18 PM

Hey, that's during my spring break.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Posted by: Snuggiepants at February 2, 2011 9:11 PM

Wish I could be there. Gonna be in New Orleans instead. :-/

GRAWEQNWDSDFSF

That falls on the first two weekends of the show I'm performing. I could definitely come down for a day and a half mid week, though...

Posted by: Ian at February 3, 2011 12:52 AM

Thanks for giving us the dates, Rowles.

Posted by: admin at February 3, 2011 1:42 AM

I might actually be willing to deal with getting downtown this year. 3 1/2 years in Austin, many 'bacons, haven't met a blessed one of you.

Smokin' and geep getting me super drunk at a bar on the East side doesn't count, as it was not officially part of said 'bacon.

Posted by: MyySharona at February 3, 2011 7:45 AM

I'm in Houston so I'll totally pop in for some Pajiba time.

And for those of you too lazy to click a link (Doran) it's March 11-20.

Posted by: Vee at February 3, 2011 7:48 AM

You're in Houston, Vee? Ditto. Good luck with our version of Snowmageddon (also known as Pansy Winter).

Posted by: Patty O'Green at February 3, 2011 9:20 AM

Thanks for softening the blow of my not being able to make Pajibacon 2011 with this photo of JGL totally working the gross layabout look. Hot.

Posted by: Caspar at February 3, 2011 11:40 AM

I've lived in Texas forever and SXSW has never once worked out with my schedule. I'll be in town the weekend before for STAPLE.

Where do the Pajibacon meet-ups usually occur, in town? If you guys haven't been to The Jackalope, you should check that place out. Great burgers, awesome fries, and you can smoke (if you're into that sort of thing) on the patio in the back without having to go on the street like a hobo. Just sayin'.

Posted by: RobP at February 3, 2011 12:20 PM

I would totally go to Ji'bacon, except for being halfway across the country. That and the possibility of being assaulted. These things I can deal with. What I can't deal with is the fact that I NEED to see Hesher. I NEED it. This movie is floating in a void of no information. Does anyone know if it's ever getting any sort of a limited or dvd release? Anything?

Posted by: Blank at February 3, 2011 12:48 PM

Dude, we're here. Alla time. Snuggiepants and Lennon and I got together for beers and football in Addison just a couple weeks ago. Figgy comes out from time to time, usually when geep and smokin are in town. Just call us up, or we'll tell you next time we're going out.

Posted by: Ian at February 3, 2011 12:50 PM

I live 10 minutes outside of Austin, I might pop it just to see what's cooking.

Posted by: Pookie at February 3, 2011 3:59 PM

You've lied to me before, Pookie. I don't think my heart could take the disappointment. Seriously. I'm carrying like an excess 80 pounds for my height.

Posted by: Prisco at February 3, 2011 4:03 PM

Is this really you Prisco? I really enjoy your work here at Pajiba. Forget about the weight dude, it's what's on the inside that counts.

Posted by: Pookie at February 3, 2011 5:16 PM

Godopus, Pookie lives in our Great State? No shit!

Yeah, I'm in Houston Patty. So far no snow, but people are still freaking out.

Posted by: Vee at February 3, 2011 8:29 PM

Hey just call me up next time! even if I don't like beer or football. I just wanna hang.
