Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • Idle Primate

PSH was a supporting actor in the Master?

  • Yocean

No love for Game of Thrones? The fuck?

  • lorent

Isn't this last year's list? Or is that my flu fever talking?

  • Skyler Durden

So happy to see John Hawkes getting some love. He was terrific.

  • Other Brian

A nomination for The Big Bang Theory invalidates the entire list.

  • Artemis

Big Bang Theory isn't my cup of tea, but I don't have any problem with it being nominated. I like some diversity in the types of shows that are nominated for awards, and BBT is currently the most successful and probably (I have no idea, I don't watch many) best multi-cam comedy on TV. That deserves some recognition.

  • Maguita NYC

Not as much as a Two-and-a-Half-Men nomination would have!

  • Artemis

I look at the list of Best Actor (TV) nominees, and then I think about Peter Dinklage breaking down in the last episode of GoT when Shae tells him she is his, and then I hate the universe.
I think Dinklage gave Cranston a run for his money this year, and those two are miles ahead of everyone else in the field. Fucking JEFF DANIELS smugging it up at the camera is nominated ahead of Tyrion? Hell no.

  • Blake

I find the lack of Looper disturbing... I can also assume that John Noble and the rest of Fringe gang were completely ignored again.

I guess there is always next year.... OH yeah right there is no F$%@ING NEXT YEAR!!!

  • John W

Downton Abbey made the cut but Game of Thrones didn't? You gotta be kidding me. I like DA but that show doesn't even compare to GoT. Or Walking Dead for that matter.

  • BWeaves

I seriously hope John Hawkes wins for The Sessions. I've seen the documetary about Mark O'Brien, and John Hawkes absolutely nailed him, without being able to move anything but his head.

Also, how was Helen Hunt's character in The Sessions "supporting?" I would have thought she was equally a lead in it. She also nailed Cheryl Cohen-Greene and had to do it completely naked.

Needless to say, The Sessions is my favorite movie of the year.

  • Puddin

No! Mcanohay (how the hell do you spell his name?!) was ROBBED! He wore a midriff tee! What more do you want from him, SAG? His BLOOD? His piss on Zac Efron?!

  • dizzylucy

The TV comedy ensemble is blowing my mind, and not in a good way.

  • Lisa Beee

Uuuh... Maggie Smith, Jessica Lange, AND Claire Danes in the same category?
How is anyone supposed to choose?
Is... is *this* how the world ends?

  • Gotta go with Jessica.

  • Maguita NYC

No ifs or psychopathic-dead-sons about it. That woman is mesmerizing spooky.

  • Puddin

Maggie Smith. Always always always Maggie Smith. Get those other bitches outta the way--HBIC Maggie Smith is comin' through.

  • e jerry powell

  • Zirza

For my own peace of mind I'm going to assume that Parade's End isn't on the list because it hasn't been aired in America yet and that this is the only reason it isn't on the list.

  • BlackRabbit

Javier Bardem, Skyfall? No. He was passable at best, in a mediocre film.

  • mairimba

Motherflipping Glee for comedy and no P&R? Bull doodle!

  • lowercase_ryan

I'm so F*&%NG sick of Modern Family.

  • Maguita NYC

This!!! So tired of dumbasses nominating a show just based on its societal equality vehicle message, and not its actual showmanship quality (or lack thereof). If you are looking for LGBT and diversity representatives in the comedy category, why not nominate the much-more deserving Shameless instead?

  • Pants-are-a-must

I'm sick of all the TV nominations lists. They're fetid as all hell.

  • I already bitched on the fb--but I still have to say--Joaquin Phoenix must have burned all the bridges, because he should be up for best actor, no question.

  • Maguita NYC

I do not understand why they overlook Phoenix when WTMF, Nicole Kidman???!

In all honestly, no matter the gender or movie genre, actor for actor, performance for performance, Joaquim Phoenix was so much more superior than Kidman.

  • dizzylucy

I agree. I kind of hated the movie, but he was amazing in it. Better than PSH even, and he was pretty great too.
Ah well, it's probably all going to DDL anyway, and I can't argue with that.

  • JoannaRobinson

Right? I mean. I didn't love love love that movie as a whole, but Phoenix was ridiculously impressive in it.

  • John G.

Not enough cry-sterbation and latex for you?

  • No one can deny he acted the shit out of that movie.

  • lowercase_ryan

hey burned the bridges then smoked the ashes.

  • I believe that.

  • Pants-are-a-must

I...didn't think Sally Field was all that impressive in Lincoln, to be honest.

  • Lemon_Poundcake

I haven't seen The Impossible, but I'm pretty sure Ewan McGregor has been snubbed.

  • pinkerton80

How is Parks & Rec not nominated for Best Comedy Ensemble? Whatta world...

  • thats exactly whatt i was about to say. fuck the sags. those saggy bastards

  • pinkerton80

While I'm at it, how is it possible that Nick Offerman is consistently passed over for nomination for every major award, every single time? The man is a genius.

  • John W

The funny thing is Alec Baldwin gets nominated every time and he's basically playing the same character. The conservative, patriarch who talks in a monotone deadpan.

  • Groundloop

Two things Offerman/Swanson has that Baldwin/Donaghy lacks is the epic mustache and the woodworking talent. I guess "People That Nominate People For Awards" have a problem with salt of the earth, rugged handymen.

  • Lemon_Poundcake

    Exactly! This list is bullshit.
