swingtown1.jpgTonight is the season finale of “Swingtown” over on CBS and it very well could be the series finale. While the show grew on me a bit beyond my mostly negative review of the premiere, I won’t cry if it ends, because it’s still simply an ok show. And while it hasn’t been getting a lot of those “ratings” things the networks seem to like, there are of course some fans that want to save the show (and some CBS execs have also mentioned a keenness for the show — you may recall I previously told you about them trying to shop it around to the cable networks).

But these fans are so unoriginal — all they’ve done is setup an online petition. Remember the stupid-ass nuts campaign for “Jericho.” Well I for one think they need to be sending copies of Deep Throat to CBS. Who doesn’t like free porn?

But it may not much matter anyways, as the show’s creator is already on his way to greener pastures. As part of a new deal with CBS, Mike Kelley has created a new show for Showtime, called “BiCoastal.” The hour-long drama is about a married man in LA who winds up falling in love with a NYC man. Which means that Showtime must have figured with “The L Word” covering the female/female love, it was time to get a little man-on-man on the air. I’m sure the heinous Parents Television Council is already planning its outrage.
