Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Posters: These Men Are Clearly Up To Something, And I Like It

Not much to say here. There hasn’t been much hubbub about Guy Ritchie’s sequel to his very enjoyable (if not quite perfect) Sherlock Holmes, entitled Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows. The plot is still relatively under wraps, but we know it will involve the nefarious (love that word) Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), that Rachel McAdams will return (and hopefully be a bit more engaging this time around), and it will also star Noomi Rapace, Eddie Marsan (also returning) and Stephen Fry. It’s a phenomenal cast.

Anyway, here are the first two posters. One for Robert Downey Jr., one for Jude Law. Both posters are pretty fun, if rather uninformative. Both men are clearly have shenanigans on their agenda, and I fully support that.

RDj can get up to something any day of the week.

I guess that joke would have been more funny if I'd added the 'in my pants' part first.

It may be the excessive amount of alcohol I was talked into consuming tonight, but does anyone else find that the second poster features a woman whose head is about 1.5 times normal size? It's freaking me out.

I approve of Stephen Fry.

The posters turn me off, because good God is that a ton of Overlay layers on poor RDJ and Jude Law. But shenanigans negate that. I need more RDJ shenanigans in my life, because I'm so underwhelmed for Iron Man 3 sans Le Favreau right now.

Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes?

YES and PLEASE.

While I love RDJ in anything, and I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes, I could not understand a thing he said. I felt like I was partially deaf.

Mr. Snatch, please add subtitles. Thank you.

STEPHEN FRY! That is all.

Posted by: Nimue at July 11, 2011 9:18 AM

Meh. I'd be more excited about Cumberbatch's Sherlock news...

Posted by: Jack at July 11, 2011 9:39 AM

Ok, but what is going on in that bottom poster? Is that...a doll that has been inserted to menace Jude Law in some sort of Bride of Chucky reprise?

The rest of the posters are pretty cool; but that one has me underwhelmed.

@Intern Rusty, yeah, her head looks huge. Maybe it's just perspective and the head's actually closer to us than the body is, like if she's doing the "Smooth Criminal" lean.

Well. Hellooooo RDJ's beautiful eyes. I was extremely underwhelmed by the first movie, and am pretty underwhelmed by the whole notion of a second movie, but ... I'll probably watch it anyway. Because he's just so damn sexy. Sigh.

Loved the first movie... eagerly anticipating the second...

The posters look great!

I'm watching this.

We will be there wearing matching deerstalker hats!

DONT JUDGE US!

Mauser alert!
Love that gun..

All of a flutter over Jared Harris as Prof M. Plus the rest of the cast as drooled over in the previous posts.

Settle down, pants! (MY pants - I'd never presume to give orders to others' pants.)

sars and Highly Employable Rusty,

I too was thinking, "Maybe she's just leaning REALLY far over."

Posted by: Socrates_Johnson at July 11, 2011 2:11 PM

So...is Noomi Rapace going to beat the shit out of both of them? I'll certainly go see it if that's the case.

Posted by: DeistBrawler at July 11, 2011 6:37 PM

i'm looking forward to seeing Stephen Fry as Mycroft, but i must confess i had been secretly hoping for Jeremy Irons in that role..

Posted by: amelie at July 11, 2011 9:57 PM

Steven Fry as Mycroft? That's perfect casting.

I'm hallucinating again, aren't I?
