This may be a crap movie, but hell if it ain’t good casting. Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman have signed on to Change Up, yet another one of those body-switching movies. The script comes from Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who wrote The Hangover, and David Dobkin (The Wedding Crashers) — who was the Todd Phillips of Hollywood during those few years when Todd Phillps relinquished the throne — is set to direct.

This one is a … what … a bromantic take on the body-switch comedy? Bateman will star as a responsible family man who switches bodies with Reynolds, who is playing a lazy man child. (I don’t blame him — I’d switch bodies with Reynolds, too. I’ll let the rest of you finish that joke).

The thing about these body-switching movies is that, in general, they are very bad. But they are also weirdly fun to watch. They’re fucking irresistible. I don’t understand what part of our brain identifies with the premise, but man: Candy. (Also: Man Candy).

Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, people. There’ll be enough wry humor in this film to rip a hole open in the sarcasm continuum.

Well, strictly speaking, I wouldn't want to SWITCH bodies with RR, so much as merge.... Repeatedly.

Could one switch bodies with RR but opt to keep ones own eyes? Coz, you know, that cross-eyed thing would probably be really difficult to live with.

This sounds boring. They had the right idea when they did The Hot Chick...just the wrong story and the wrong cast.

See...do we really care if a woman switches bodies with another woman? Or if a man switches with another man? Fuck no.

I think it would be more interesting to see a man have to be a woman and vice versa. A guys first period, their reaction during sex, having to put on makeup and wear a thong. A girls perspective of being able to piss at a urinal, to know what it feels like to wake up and scratch your balls, to get kicked in the balls.

I also wonder if a guy becomes a woman if he would seriously just sit around and play with his own breasts all day.

That's just me though.

I read that as Ryan Reynolds and Patrick Bateman and immediately thought it was going to be some kind of serial killer buddy cop film.

I don't know if I'm disappointed or not. Yay anyway.

I'm thinking that, if Dustin switched bodies with RR, he'd spend the day locked in the bathroom, fapping off at his own reflection until his dick was RAW. In which case, the whole cross-eyed thing could work out for him -- two reflections to fap to.

Deist, there is such a film you described. It's an Australian film called "Dating the Enemy" and stars Guy Pearce. It even involves a swapped body sex scene. Wouldn't that be an interesting experience?
