Obviously the casting agents at Dexter heard about my huge crush on Keith Carradine because they went out and hired another similarly hot older gentleman: Peter Weller. Okay, that’ll work. Weller is joining the show’s fifth season as a Miami Metro cop who gets mixed up in an internal affairs investigation. Now that’s interesting because we have to wonder exactly who is being investigated; it seems obvious it would be Dex himself. Will our prince of darkness have to take out another fellow officer? (I still miss Doakes.)

Meanwhile, over on True Blood, as if we don’t have enough new characters already, Alan Ball has confirmed the appearance of…

…werepanthers. Say what? Obviously I haven’t gotten to this part of Charlaine Harris’ series because I had no idea such creatures existed. Now there are all kinds of rumors out on the interwebs as to who exactly will be shifting into a werepanther, but the only solid quote comes from Ryan Kwanten (who plays Jason Stackhouse): “I’ve been working with the panthers and they’re a lot cooler than the wolves.”

There you have it folks, panthers are cooler than wolves. Der.
