There’s not much to the new teaser poster for True Grit. It’s simple, it’d bold, and it speaks for itself. It’s also striking. There’s not a lot of movies I’d see based solely on a movie poster, but this one says all you need to know: Joel and Ethan Coen, Josh Brolin, Matt Damon, and Jeff Bridges.

Sold.

When the Coen Brothers are firing on all cylinders, they are damned near untouchable; marketing genius included.

I can't help but wonder if they had that font back in the Old West.

Alright when you fuckers bitch about the next re-make of a perfectly good movie that doesn't need to be re-made BUT happens to have your fave directors and actors I'm just gonna laugh.

And say I told you so.

Why are you letting them off the hook this time logan?

I tell people I hate westerns just so I don't have to explain how I can like Shane and dislike the more actiony westerns. A Coen Brothers western interests me. Scratch that. A Coen Brothers actual western designed to be a western, not a western-like film with modern subject matter and long sprawling shots of desolate landscapes, interests me. It also seems that they aren't going the shot-for-shot route, so I'm not opposed to it being a remake, either. No one is doing this to try and profit off of an international phenomenon because of some idiotic notion that a properly marketed foreign-language film can't possibly play well in America.

Saw a full trailer for this on Saturday. It looks so good. God I love westerns.

That trail of blood is cheesy as all hell.

I'm still pissed this isn't being shot in the same locations. Bah!

When I see that picture up top, all I hear is "Preacher! We love you preacher!" Did they deliberately make her up to look like the girl from Pale Rider?

On a side note- Hell Fucking Yes!

I love Westerns, I hate the original True Grit. Wayne is embarrassing and the girl that plays Mattie is one of the most annoying actresses ever. I've been excited by this movie since I heard they were making it.

To be fair, they're not really remaking the movie. They're skipping the movie and going straight to the original book. My dad is a big fan of the book, and he's always said the movie sucked in comparison, especially John Wayne's character, who wasn't nearly enough of an asshole.
