Whedon Fans Find Themselves with another Gray Hair
Relax folks! / Seth Freilich

elizaimdbit7gc1ub5.jpgYes, production on Joss Whedon’s new Fox show “Dollhouse” has shut down. But chill the fuck out and don’t get your panties in a bunch. They’ve only put the brakes on production for two weeks, and the story being spun is that it’s to give Joss some writing time. Since he directed two of the three episodes in the can, he’s been a busy beaver and hasn’t had the time to tinker with the scripts as much as he’d like. So he requested a two week hiatus and the 20th Century Fox folks said “a’ight.”

Sure, we have no reason to have any faith in Fox at this point, and it certainly wouldn’t be beyond the network to fuck one of its shows several months before it even goes on air. But nevertheless, while I may be naive in this instance, I think this is probably legit. So go pluck that hair that just went gray, grab a beer (what? there’s nothing wrong with cracking a cold one in the morning) and go back to complaining about Rumer Willis.

What's that smell? Sniff, sniff. It smells like....it smells like Fox canceling another Joss Whedon show...sniff sniff...man, that's weird.

Maybe I'm just dim on the subject, but could someone explain to me why Whedon doesn't explore OTHER networks for his kick-ass shows? I mean, I'm only guessing that the CW and/or Sci-Fi networks would gladly give him a little room to run?

Ahh.....ahhh...I see what you did there.

Why is Whedon still with Fox anyway? Sure they have Heroes and he could possibly guest write on that show, given its premise....but he would be so much more respected at the CW (Buffy was on there anyway) or the SciFi channel. He's just wasting away over there!

Fox has Heroes? When did this happen?

Fox has Bizarro Heroes starring Peter Petrelli #4. Me kill cheerleader, me blow up world.

I think I remember when 'Dollhouse' was first announced and people were all WTF is Joss doing striking a new deal with evil Fox after they screwed him (and us) on 'Firefly', there was something about Eliza Dushku being in a contract with Fox. So if Joss wanted her for his show, he had to deal with Fox.

Could be wrong on that, though.

Eliza has a development deal with Fox also.
