The Lego Movie sequel has found a director, and they’ve found him in one of our favorite places. Rob Schrab has directed some of the best recent Community episodes, including the Dick Wolf homage (“Basic Lupine Urology”)
“App Development and Condiments”
And “G.I. Jeff,” if you’re wondering how he’ll do with animation.

He’s also directed episodes of The Mindy Project,

Childrens Hospital,

And The Sarah Silverman Program, which he also co-created. Along with Dan Harmon, he also wrote and produced one of the most infamous unaired pilots of all time, Heat Vision and Jack.

This seems like a great choice, fun and weird enough to avoid the typical sequel blandening.
