One Of TV's Best Actors Lands A Juicy Role On 'The Walking Dead'

We’re huge Michael Cudlitz fans here on Pajiba. “Who?” you say. “FOR SHAME,” I reply. Like many obscenely talented actors of a certain shade, Cudlitz got a major break in the HBO series Band Of Brothers.

But he came to greater prominence as the heart and soul of TNT’s criminally underrated cop drama, Southland. Well he’s not going to be our little secret anymore. Cudlitz has joined the Season 4 cast of The Walking Dead. He’ll be playing Sergeant Abraham Ford who looks like this in the comic:

And will look like this on-screen:

Pretty damn close! We won’t go into major comic book spoilers for you unsullied show watchers, but Rick and the gang meet Sgt. Ford on a trip to D.C. and he and his companion, Dr. Eugene Porter (played by Josh McDermitt) claim to know what was behind the zombie outbreak. Fear not, comic book lovers, the showrunners have promised that Dr. Porter will be “fully mulleted.” All I know is that just when I think I’m out, The Walking Dead always finds a way to pull me back in. Cudlitz and mullets? I’m in.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

I literally just said "yaaaaaaay!" at the laptop screen. He made me so happy while on Southland.

  • Legally Insignificant

Point of order: At what point can one discuss a plot point from the comic book be discussed openly without being a spoiler? For example, if something happened in the comic book prior to/during the survivors' stay in the prison, can one openly discuss said plot point.

  • Spoilers are like talking about politics on the Internet. No matter what your position, some people will think you're reasonable, and the comments section will be clogged with people calling you an asshole.

  • Legally Insignificant

I only bring this up because I'm interested to see if Rick will have his Jaime Lannister moment this upcoming season and am unsure if that would be considered a spoiler.

  • Rick's going to bang his sister?!?!? Thanks for the spoiler asshole.

  • Edwina the Magnificent

Being one who has read the comics and watched the show, but not seen/read Game of Thrones.......thanks a lot. Shit.

  • ryallen

One of my favorite characters in the book.

  • Blake

While I'm happy to see Cudlitz back on TV, he deserves better then T.W.D.

    Justified would be way better.

  • dizzylucy

I agree. I am such a huge fan of Cudlitz from Southland, but I don't watch TWD, and Justified is awesome.
