Sam Worthington Will Be All Up In Your Sh*t Next Year

More evidence that it just doesn’t matter whether or not a film is any good anymore. Remember the Clash of the Titans remake that came out a couple of months ago? Louis Leterrier directed, Sam Worthington starred, it was pretty much universally panned? Dustin hated it, and while I don’t entirely trust his opinion since he has no love for the original either, even the geekiest of geeks conceded that Clash 2010 was a miserable, and inexplicably boring, failure.

So of course, it’s getting a sequel. Because despite being dull as watching worms grow, it also made almost half a billion dollars at the box office, and that’s a number that gets studio execs’ dicks to stand at attention. It’s even being fast-tracked,with shooting scheduled to begin in January 2011. The fast-track is mainly due to the busy schedule of the handsome and breathtakingly wooden Sam Worthington, who will spend the second half of 2011 shooting Avatar 2: Ferngullier.

There’s no word on a script yet, but one can only hope that Bubo will have a larger role, seeing as how he probably has more screen presence than Worthington. As for directing, Leterrier won’t return — the current front-runner for the gig is Jonathan Liebesman, who is currently shooting the alien invasion film Battle: Los Angeles (starring Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez). The plan is to have this one be in actual, real 3-D, not the visually distracting and dull post-production 3-D that was inflicted on the original.

That means that Sam Worthington gets to be all up in our shit for two overblown, bloated 3D pictures that are shooting next year. Huzzah.

Wait.. what?! Are you saying Bubo WAS in the remake?! I was given to understand that he did not. Why was I not made aware of this?!

I am holding you personally responsible for this oversight, TK. I believe you are fully aware of my love for Bubo, and your refusal to inform me indicates an even deeper dislike of me than previously thought. I therefore believe that you withheld this information on purpose, and I now have no choice but to retaliate.

You won't know when, and you won't know where, but I am coming for you, TK.

I enjoyed Clash of the Titans (remake) in the same way I enjoy, say, Daughters of Darkness. Sure, both are crap films, but they're campy beyond belief and feature pretty pretty girls in fancy costumes and sometimes that's enough.

Look, goddammit, it's wearing me out, all the energy I'm having to expend on ignoring this guy's movies. And he does get all up in my shit with them! What's he got against me anyway?

Anna von Beaverplatz I believe Bubo (who I also ADORE) was only in the remake for a blink and you'll miss him moment when they're deciding what gear to take on the journey and they pick up our beloved golden owl and he asks what it is and some ASSHAT says you won't be needing THAT...

your refusal to inform me indicates an even deeper dislike of me than previously thought.

Oh, honey, no. No, please don't you ever think that. It's hate, not dislike. Hate. There's a critical difference.

That goes for all of you.

Why is it you're not thanking him for keeping your Bubo tic undisturbed? You would've had to go see it!

Sigh. Loving TK is difficult and takes something of a masochistic streak. We love you, TK.

(psst - You're still my favorite. Don't tell the others.)

I hope Avatar 2 takes another 10 years and James Cameron has an aneurysm. Not a FATAL aneurysm. Just enough that he decides he's under too much stress and quits the movie business.

Clash 2010 was a miserable, and inexplicably boring, failure.

And that's the key word. Clash could have been just as overblown and wooden as it wanted to be. But unlike the original, there was zero sense of wonder or fun. It was scene after scene of humans pontificating about the gods' evils (not resolved in the movie), the gods bitching about human's uppityness (not resolved in the movie) and Perseus telling us how he wanted to dickslap Eywa (oh wait, wrong movie).

Oh, honey, no.

Dude, you turned into the Fug Girls for a minute there. I mean, I love the Fug Girls but there's something so...wrong...about you impersonating them. You don't carry off the caftans, Diet Cokes, and foot massages from Intern George as well as they do.

Wait, no. I take that back. I would pay cash money for a picture of that.

Meh. I liked Clash of the Titans. I thought it succeeded at what it was made for, to be a popcorn flick. The fight with the scorpions even managed to get me on the edge of my seat.

Stardust, you'd be UHMAZED how well TK wears a caftan.

with all these 3-D movies he keeps making, nobody will ever need to see sam worthington in person.
