Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars") and Dax Shepard ("Parenthood"), in addition to being in a relationship together, are great on television. Unfortunately, neither one of them have done particularly well on the big screen. I don't know if Hit & Run will change that, but at the very least, it looks like the best movie either one of them have ever starred in.

Shepard actually wrote and co-directed the film, about a former getaway driver who busts out his Witness Protection Program identity in order to help his girlfriend get to Los Angeles. It also stars Bradley Cooper, who wears dreads and appears to have only one joke in the film, about being butt-f*cked in prison. Hey! You don't know! They could get a lot of mileage out of that joke.

Anyway, it looks almost kind of funny in the way that movies that feature most of the funny stuff in the trailers do, but you know what? I'm gonna give it the benefit of the doubt because Kristen Bell is adorable.

Kevin James is Funny Because He's Fat. GET IT? BECAUSE HE'S FAT | What If, And I'm Just Spitballing Here, But What If There Can Actually Be MORE Than One?

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • Hannah

they're a real life couple and they look like brother & sister

  • Devin McMusters

Kristen Bell looks more like Blond Doctor from Scrubs every time I see her

  • MrB

From all accounts (cf. the sloth video) Ms Bell is as mad as a box of hammers. Easy on the eye though, dammit.

  • PB3

First, you do realize that the people who make the trailers are not the same people who make the movies. You've never seen a bad trailer for a good movie or a good trailer for an awful movie?
Second, who wants to bet that the over 90% Emu's butt rape jokes in the entire movie are shown in the preview?
Third, are you the same group of dipshits that keep making excuses for Prometheus? this movie might be a stupid, slightly more action RomCom. While Prometheus acts like it was an intelligent SciFi movie when the writer was just shit balls retarded.
Congrats on the snark, but I'm just not impressed.

  • DontStopNow

This legitimately upset me. Like not enough to make me protest, but enough for me to definitively NOT see it.

  • Oh, lordy. Header pic...

  • MixmastahH

When was the last time a prison rape joke was funny? Why do people think it's funny? What is the punchline? SO MANY QUESTIONS

  • Clancys_Daddy

  • UMNomad

Wow, two rape jokes within the span of about 20 seconds? Man, Dax Shephard has a hit on his hands with this one.

  • special snowflake

For the love of Mike, you @sshole! A little 'spoiler warning' on the senior nudity would have been quite appropriate for this thing, doncha think?! I'll FOREVER equate the words "adorable" and "Kristen Bell" with that mind-burning image, thanks a friggin lot!

The header pic is more than enough.

  • Mitchell Hundred

Wow, racism. That whole discussion about the anal sex, I mean.

  • Salad_Is_Murder

That looks pretty funny. I like that he can't stop pestering him about the prison's like, he's just gotta' know!

  • There is about a 1 in 3 chance that I will get nothing done at work today, because I'm stuck in a loop staring at that header pic.

  • Did... did she say she got date raped and then said she "got what she deserved?" I just... I can't... no.

  • alannaofdoom

Yeah. I'm out. Watched the rest of the trailer to see if it would maybe get better? It did not. I love Kristen Bell but this is so emphatically not the right movie for me to see, ever.

  • lowercase_ryan

Dax has a boner for The Dukes of Hazard.

  • I mean, if we're laughing at rape then yes, prison rape is clearly the high water comedy mark we should be going for. Still though...

Points for Kristen Chenoweth's character for squeezing a laugh out of date rape (still one of the funnier rapes, but not in prison's rape's comedy league) in the very same trailer.

  • layla

As k.bell gets older... her eyes become more beedy and ever so slightly more cross eyed (or something.. I can't quite pin point it).
This bothered me in Veronica Mars but didn't stop my love for it or her. Her adorableness reigned supreme. I noticed it again in Saving Sarah Marshall and noticed it more in "insert name of tv show" she's in now. And now this.

Adorableness no longer > beedy, slightly crossed eyes.

*yes. I am aware that you will all boo and hiss my face off for this opinion... commence.

  • Barry

And you richly deserve every boo and hiss. Bell has a lazy eye, which she has discussed in detail on Craig Ferguson's show. I'll take her lazy eye over your lazy snark any day of the week.

Doesn't stop this movie from looking like shit, though.

  • Zuffle

What if, and I'm just spitballing here... What if Veronica Mars, as wonderful as it was, was a complete fluke, and Kristen Bell is actually really awful? Because this trailer only makes that possibility eight per cent more likely. This looks like complete fucking dross.

  • Kristobel

I really liked her in House of Lies. I think it's just...she is a TV actress. And that's okay to be. SMG is just a TV actress. Jennifer Aniston is a TV actress. It's where they shine.

  • anon

This looks much worse than the Kevin James movie. And that butt-fuck and race joke is very very tasteless.

  • anon

It's Veronica Mars, so I will see it at some point.

  • BWeaves

    Looks awful.

This looks terrible. No, thank you.
