Daddy's Little Girl

Now this is parenting.

We mentioned Kick-Ass a couple of weeks ago, when the first trailer premiered. The movie, about an average shmoe who decides, despite possessing no superpowers, training, or really any abilities whatsoever, to become a costumed crimefighter, looks like a fun, nasty, violent diversion. It's rated R, which is even more promising, and has a pretty cool cast, with Aaron Johnson as high school student Dave Lizewski, aka Kick-Ass, and Chloe Moretz as the 11-year old ninja trainee Hit-Girl. Her father, Big Daddy, is played by Nicolas Cage.

In this clip, Cage is teaching his daughter one of the most important lessons a father can pass down to his daughter. Namely: how to take a bullet to the chest.

I gotta admit, Cage looks like he could be a hell of a lot of fun in this. Here he is in costume in his character poster. Clearly it's a bit of Batman ripoff/homage/satire, and I kinda dig that.
