Nell Gone Bad

Never go full retard, as they say. But how about completely wild, raised by a savage tribe and basically an animal? As long as she doesn’t speak in some freaky Nell language (like some of our own ‘jibettes) I’m willing to give feral a chance. Below are new images from Lucky McKee’s (Red, “Sick Girl”) The Woman, about a man (Sean Bridgers, “Deadwood, True Blood, Justified”) trying to protect his family from a feral woman (Pollyana McIntosh, Offspring) who lives in the woods near his home. Seems like a decent premise for a horror film, especially when said family man aka stupid, asshole dude wants to trap and tame Nasty Nell aka Woman.

McKee himself says of his film that it will “make you jump, it will make you squirm and for the more sensitive, it might even induce nausea.” He also hopes to bring to mind the films Straw Dogs and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre with the camera work and visceral cutting style. Er, what I need to know is can I cover my eyes for the really bad parts or is the whole thing going to leave me a whimpering mess?

You can read more of the director’s statement at the official site and then come back and tell me if you’re in or you’re out.

That's my imaginary indie film girlfriend Angela Bettis up there. You be nice to her, as she can act circles around all her damn peers and still hold her own as an intelligent human being. She's also pro-glasses and wickedly funny.

It's a little known fact, but Angela Bettis + Lucky McKee + Horror = Victory. I'm in like a bowling bowl stuck in the ball return at a kid's birthday party. You ain't getting me out without a whole lot of effort and a lot of crying.

This may be the only time I've seen a Lucky McKee and/or Angela Bettis mention without mentioning the amazing May.

Yikes, it looks like Christopher Mintz-Plasse in that header pic.

I likes me some Angela Bettis. Bloody shame almost nobody knows who she is, but everybody knows who that block of pine Megan Fox is.
