You can add this project to the scrap heap of movies that are often discussed but that will never happen, including a Veronica Mars movie, a second Firefly movie, an Arrested Development movie, Ghostbusters III, sequels to Will Smith movies that do not include Men in Black, another sequel to Bill and Ted's Adventure, a Monopoly movie, a movie based on The Viewmaster and Battleship: Harvey Weinstein is talking a sequel to the underperforming 1998 film, Rounders, which starred Ed Norton and Matt Damon. Yes, there have been meetings. Yes, there have been talks. But no, a sequel to a $23 million movie will not happen, much to the probable chagrin of SportsGuy Bill Simmons, whose three pop-culture frames of references are limited to Rounders, "Saved! by the Bell," and "90210."
