Movies That Will Never, Ever Happen No Matter What Anybody Says Part XLVIII

You can add this project to the scrap heap of movies that are often discussed but that will never happen, including a Veronica Mars movie, a second Firefly movie, an Arrested Development movie, Ghostbusters III, sequels to Will Smith movies that do not include Men in Black, another sequel to Bill and Ted’s Adventure, a Monopoly movie, a movie based on The Viewmaster and Battleship: Harvey Weinstein is talking a sequel to the underperforming 1998 film, Rounders, which starred Ed Norton and Matt Damon. Yes, there have been meetings. Yes, there have been talks. But no, a sequel to a $23 million movie will not happen, much to the probable chagrin of SportsGuy Bill Simmons, whose three pop-culture frames of references are limited to Rounders, “Saved! by the Bell,” and “90210.” (Source: Variety)

The touchstone for Bill Simmons is now and will always be the Karate Kid.

I love the way the paragraph ends, it looks like your source for Bill Simmons' reference points came from Variety. That made me laugh, nearly out loud.

What about Bill's bromance with Jimmy Kimmel?

@DemonWaterPolo LOLs, muchas gracias

Is it me, or is Malkovich the most overrated actor of all time?

Not enough clicks from the Palin-movie troll-bait, so you gotta wave a blue sun at the browncoats.

I see what you did there.

I'm still convinced that Bill Simmons lost a bet at some point in life in which he has to reference Hoosiers in every column he ever writes for the rest of his career.

"I am still up 20 grand from the last time I stick it in you."

Oh, Malkovich. Don't ever change.

I don't think you've read very much Simmons at all if you think he has only a few pop culture references. There are probably at least two dozen. His column is ENTIRELY pop culture references. What about The Wire, Mad Men, the final episode of The Sopranos, Cheers/Seinfeld (always mentioned together), and of course Teen Wolf?
