Meet the New Voice of the Modern Woman

Will Ferrell is now in the lady business. It was announced today that his production company, Gary Sanchez Productions (named after the fictional Paraguayan entrepreneur and financier Gary Sanchez) will be starting a new female-centric film and television division.

Gary Sanchez Productions, which Ferrell heads up along with Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, has produced some big hits and some big misses over the last seven years, but they also founded Funny or Die, so I think they’re coming out ahead.

The new division will be called Gloria Sanchez Productions, named after Gary’s equally fictional step-granddaughter, and will be spearheaded by Jessica Elbaum. Elbaum has been with Gary Sanchez for years, working her way up from Will Ferrell’s assistant (a job I assume entails a lot of moustache-wrangling) to executive producer.

The lady-led entertainment business has been booming the last few years, with major deals coming to Zooey Deschanel, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and the like. It’s good to see that dudes are getting in on the action as well. Good for Will Ferrell for using his comedy status to get more funny women on big and small screens.

Here's some Daveed Diggs for you. On Daveed Diggs' digs, actually. That man does things with clothes that should not make sense, but are absolutely perfect. (Go Fug Yourself)

Woody Allen has "so moved on" from his daughter's accusations and says he never even thinks about it. He equates her words about him to a bad review he won't read and comments on how wacky it is that Mia Farrow is his mother-in-law. He is the worst. (Celebitchy)

Not The Worst but still very gross: Leonardo DiCaprio and his Pussy Posse Wolf Pack were on the douche prowl in NYC. (Lainey)

Here are 5 under-the-radar shows. I had never even heard of the first two. (Uproxx)
