May As Well Hire Someone Pretty With Time Travel Experience

Steven Spielberg’s series Terra Nova may have found the pretty its star in Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars). I tried to watch the US version of that British hit, and frankly, O’Mara was the one thing that dragged me back (pretty!). So while I’m not sure Fox’s latest attempt at science fiction will last more than one season, a pretty Irish boy good actor would get me to give the show a go.

Billed by some as a Land of the Lost copycat, with the planet at the brink of destruction Terra Nova follows a family’s effort as part of a team, sent to save mankind by traveling through a time portal to prehistoric Earth. In addition to dinosaurs, there are family secrets and other nefarious forces at work. Sounds like they need some pretty great actors, don’t you think?

Why don't they just cast Clancy Brown and call it Earth 2: The Return to Earth 2

Bah

I liked him in that show where they ripped of the Innocence Project. He did "gruff exterior with a smooshy center" pretty well, and looked good in the action sequences.

I refuse to simulate heavy breathing or make references to being in my bunk cuz that shit's getting annoying every time the banner photo shows a handsome man but I will say I like the way he looks very much, his acting skills aren't objectionable and they're spending a shitload of money per episode so the special effects should be amazing. I just hope there's some sort of interesting plot... with perhaps a reason for Mr O'Mara to remove his shirt occasionally.

Jason O'Mara is gorgeous, and he can act. His pyromaniac on The Closer was disturbing as hell. Will definitely watch his new show.

I miss Life on Mars. I really enjoyed all the 70s culture; it reminded me of being a kid. Off to buy the DVD set...

If you can handle the accents and regional references (and if you like Torchwood or even the Doctor, you're probably golden), the original Life On Mars was sooo much better. Definitely worth a look-see if it can be found, methinks. I cannot speak to the general handsomeness of the male cast, though, having infinitely more interest in, you know, breastses (much classier than "boobies, don't you think?)

My husband got me a full set of "Monarch of the Glen" DVDs for Christmas, and I'm now about midway through Series 2. O'Mara appears as one of the groundskeepers. I have no idea whether the guy can act, but so far he has better chemistry with the leading lady than the leading man does, and his beautiful, beautiful biceps seem to be on prominent display often enough that I really want to send a fruit basket to his personal trainer. In short: I'm suddenly very interested in "Terra Nova."
