For those of you with death pools for the new sitcoms this season, get ready to pay up, Manhattan Love Story has been cancelled. Ratings weren’t great to begin with and only got worse, probably because it only took one viewing to be totally and thoroughly annoyed at all the characters and form the opinion that none of them should ever find love. Even the TV kind of love which isn’t built on deep trust and compatibility so much as contrived incidents of conflict which, when resolved, are somehow supposed to generate affection.

The show was already scheduled to take this coming week off, but there’s no word on airing remaining episodes. Instead, on November 4th there will be two episodes of Selfie that Tuesday night. I still haven’t gotten into Selfie, but at least there’s not a super annoying “interior monologue” gimmick that completely overshadows the rest of the show.
