Let's Collectively Drool Over The Cast Of Cameron Crowe's New Movie

By Joanna Robinson | Trade News | October 14, 2013 | Comments ()

As if I wasn’t already massively excited for the new Cameron Crowe film set in Hawaii. News broke today that Bill Murray is likely to join the already adorable cast and, lo, my tiki torch burns that much brighter. Crowe’s movie sounds like a bit of a departure from the small human interest flicks that have etched him so indelibly on our hearts. Unless, did I miss the part of Say Anything where John Cusack harnessed “mystical island forces” in order to scuttle a mission and win the girl?

Regardless, Emma Stone, film kitten extraordinaire, will be playing the love interest and an Air Force pilot. She’s already shaking her hair out of a helmet and whipping off aviators in my mind. To the tune of something extraordinary, if Crowe has anything to say about it. Here’s the rest of the cast. Not bad. Oh not bad at all.

Rachel McAdams

Damn Joanna, I was reading this as I got ready for bed. Now all I'm seeing is Emma Stone shaking her hair out of a helmet and whipping of her aviators. It's gonna be a looooong night!

    Haha, you got me. Emu...

  • Emma Stone definitely looks better as a redhead than she does as a blonde.

  • Bob Genghis Khan

God help me, all I see in that Murray pic is some kind of bizarre Bill Murray/Dennis Farina hybrid.

  • This cast looks great, minus McBride. I don't want that foulmouthed philistine distracting me from the life affirming optimism that is certain to permeate this movie.

Danny McBride is often good when he plays small. See the aformentioned "Up in the Air" as well as "Clear History," in which he was outstanding.
Emma Stone runs hot and cold for me, but she looks incredible in that header pic. Rachel McAdams is always adorable, though.
I'm in. Hell, I think I'm the only person who liked "Elizabethtown." Ruckus 4 ever!

  • Ok, now I feel like I have to rewatch Up in the Air again to give McBride fair shakes. I don't remember him in that at all.

And I will gladly join the "I like Elizabethtown and I don't care who knows it" club.

  • Helo

I actually thought McBride was great in his small role in Up In The Air.

  • I can't figure out my own feelings about Baruchel. He speaks to my love of odd nerdly guys and back in high school I'm confident we would have been best friends who would die before admitting our mutual crushes. On the other hand I can't get over the fact that he's such a slip of a man, I'm confident I could fit him in my backpack and run 10 miles.

    Has Bradley Cooper lost weight?

I don't care if people call me a mindless slave or a sheeple. I will watch literally anything with Emma Stone

  • All the upvotes.

So worth it, opening this article. I had to cover my mouth to contain my laughter at work.

    I commend thee, emu lords.

Ever see a photo of an actor to whom you'd never given much thought, and suddenly you're thinking about him/her in all sorts of pleasant ways? Edi Gathegi is a fine actor (he was great as Big Love in House, and one of the few good things about Twilight), but I hadn't thought of him as particularly attractive until I saw that photo. And now? Um, um, um ...

  • Anna von Beav

I thought he was dreamy in Twilight, despite the fact that it was, you know, *Twilight*. And he was the dude who stood out to me and made me say "damn, I hope he gets better stuff in the future, because he's good." So yay!

  • ryallen

    Emma Stone... I love you.

  • Walt Jr

I have an extreme aversion to Emma Stone's voice. Reminds me of my chain smoking great aunt. But the cast looks amazing.

  • Helo

No kidding? I find it relentlessly endearing. But I can see how having it remind you of something like that can have an effect.

Kathleen Turner meets Lauren Bacall. At 25.

  • Helo

    Both stunners.

  • Pants-are-a-must

Best I've ever seen Coops look.
