Lark Voorhies, 'Saved by the Bell's' Lisa Turtle, Is Not Having a Good Decade

We snark a lot on celebrities around here, and for the most part it's warranted. Celebrties be crazy. However, I'm sure many of you saw the picture above and thought, "What the hell happened to Lisa Turtle?" and the answer is: I don't know. What we do know, however, is that -- according to People -- she seems to be suffering from something, perhaps bi-polar disorder, as her mother claims.

"There are things that have traumatized her," says Tricia, 64, who shares a home with her daughter in Pasadena, Calif. "I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life."

Voorhies denies it, claims her mother is over-worrying, and says that the weird vacant stares and rambling moments in a video interview (below) that went viral earlier this year were random moments of prayer.

She's also been working on this weird movie that, for years, has been drifting in and out of development. Or something. The trailer is ... strange, and might lend credibility to suggestions that Voorhies is suffering from mental disease.

Maybe she saw the Dustin Diamond sex tape.

Last movie I saw her in, she was getting blazed with Method Man in How High. Then she just fell off the face of the Earth a la Elizabeth Berkeley.

I'm surprised she never got in with Tyler Perry or other African-American producers who could help her feature in romcoms.

I call bullshit. No way in The Seven Hells is The Hope for Pandora's Box a real movie. That trailer, in combination with the interview, prove she's so far out on the performance art orbit not even James Franco standing on the shoulders of Joaquin Phoenix can see her.

Yeah, I'm going to agree: I think she looks terrible in the interview because that makeup is god-awful. It makes her look like she's got that skin-pigment-disease (I forget the name of it), and also like she's trying to be a drag queen, but forgot about her eyelashes altogether. And oh, god, SO MUCH lipstick. She looks far better in the trailer, even with the terrible mom-hair. But I don't think she was particularly insane-o, just no longer used to doing interviews. It seemed like she was trying to gather her thoughts but talking at the same time, which makes both of those things difficult.

Obvs, I could be totally wrong; I don't know the woman in person and I'm not a doctor, so.

    she's a Jehovah's Witness. Enough said.

  • barlowjk

Yeah, maybe she just needs a blood transfusion.

Maybe it's because her brother Jason is continually tormenting her.

  • finkleheimer

Uh...I didn't see her act weird at all....yall be making shit up.

Her makeup is horrible. The movie trailer looks on par with what my friends back in high school did for movies, but the interview itself was fine.

The only thing worse than dealing with mental illness is dealing with mental illness while under a spotlight.

The last pic I had seen of her was one from that interview, so when I saw the header pic my first thought was that she was looking better. Way better. In that interview she is almost unrecognizable in a something is really wrong kind of way.

I don't know who she is or why I should think there's something wrong with her. I saw the photo and thought "wow, she's pretty. Beautiful eyes."
