Lance Henriksen Says To Look For A Millennium Movie Soon, Forgets Nobody Cares
Oh, Lance. You are by far one of my favorite character actors, and I agree it's a shame you never really had that culture shattering breakout role that led to something better than Syfy schlock or latter-day Wes Craven. But as much as a very small few of us enjoyed "Millennium" when it was on, we all forgot everything about it after the last episode aired, and definitely after "The X-Files" wrapped everything up a year later. Frank Black was great, but nobody in Hollywood is going back to that well for a big screen, blockbusting adaptation. So, when you say things like this, one has to wonder, What are you on, and why aren't you sharing?
"When you trap a guy like Frank Black, who has that kind of imagination and you put him in a world like Bulgaria where everything is in Cyrillic and he can't communicate actively with a lot of people, he has to do it in another way. I've thought of how it could be done. You just keep moving the pressure in on him about this kind of terrorist stuff. A terrorist plot. The pressure keeps building and building and building until you realize that that pressure gave him all the answers he needed. You would be gasping for air to wonder what is going to happen to this guy."
Haha -- what? Bulgaria? Terrorism? Building and building pressure? Did Henriksen forget Frank Black didn't work at CTU and that he's not Jack Bauer? We'll be lucky to get a Nightstalker without Johnny Depp hamming it up, and we'll be more likely to get Gillian Anderson's fourth X-Files movie before we get another Millennium anything. Any deviations from that belief are the ramblings of a psychopath.
Seriously, Mr. Henriksen, we all loved Bishop...
...but nobody cares.
Rob Payne also writes the comic The Unstoppable Force, tweets on the Twitter @RobOfWar, and his ware can be purchased here (if you're into that sort of thing). He also believes that if Henriksen played Kolchak, that would be genius.
