Vince Vaughn Completes His Downward Spiral

I honestly don’t know what to think of this project. Your Cheating Heart is a comedy, directed by Ron Howard. That’s unusual, but not necessarily a bad thing — Howard directed Parenthood and actually has a good comedic eye when it comes to television, producing “Arrested Development,” and the upcoming “Parenthood” series, which looks great. (He also directed the fantastic Splash).

The movie is about a man who finds out his best friend’s wife is cheating on him, and doesn’t know what to do with that information (sounds strikingly similar to The Bachelorette Party). Vince Vaughn will play the best friend who doesn’t know what to do with the information, and Kevin James will play the husband with the cheating wife. The script comes from Alan Loeb (21, the upcoming Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps).

The rub here is this: Though Howard has no real directing imprimatur, he manages to make decent films overall (save for the Da Vinci flicks). Likewise, Vince Vaughn hasn’t made a good one in years, but he’s certainly got the potential to do so. And then there’s Kevin James: Yes, Paul Blart: Mall Cop was terrible — the worst movie of 2009 — but away from Adam Sandler’s crew, he does have a certain undeniable fat man charm. He’s actually someone I want to like, but he hasn’t really given me any reason to do so.

Maybe Your Cheating Heart will be that movie. Or maybe it will be Ron Howard’s Old Dogs. The real question, though, is who will play the fat one?

And in a completely unrelated matter, there’s a FB Group called PUCKheads (I hope this isn’t another of those secret Pajiba FB Clubs) where Pajibans get together and talk crafty stuff. I don’t really understand the appeal of crocheting and the like, but HOLYSHITTHISISAWESOME.

Lindsey with an e: You rock the Godtopus house, girl.

How could you forget Night Shift? It was, and still is, hilarious...though Michael Keaton admittedly carried it as if it had a handle.

So let me guess, the "cheating wife" is going to be some impossibly hot chick who would never even give him the time of day in real life?

What, exactly, and please be clear, with instructions and diagrams if need be, do I need to do to have one of those things sent to me?
Not Vaughn or James...where can I get me a knitted Godtopus?

Oh, how I adore that Vaughnzilla photo.

Someone is forgetting the first rule of secret Pajiba FB Clubs.

In response to JR...Brittany Murphy's marriage.
I tend to like Ron Howard's movies tbh, apart from, as Dustin stated, those godawful Da Vinci Code films. Urgh.

So let me get this straight. Paul Blart: Mall Cop's wife is cheating on him and Vince Vaugh doesn't know what to do with the information? That's probably because Vince Vaugh was THE LAST TO KNOW.

It reminds me of the time my Aunt Iris whispered to me that her daughter was gay and living with another woman. I whispered back that she was the last to know and really didn't need to pass the information on.

I like Vince Vaughn as a person, so I pray to Godtopus that this doesn't suck.

Bahaha I love this picture. To be fair to Vince Vaughn, I thought he was great in Into the Wild. I might be alone on that though.

That picture does things to me. None of them good. Oh! How the mighty have fallen.

Wait, there are secret Pajiba societies on Facebook? Is this where they plot to take over Pajiba for the day and then take over the world? How does one join such societies?

It's okay GwCH, you don't want to know about these 'societies' on FB, the hazing process is fucking terrible! Makes Guantanamo look like a daycare at Club Med.
