I have professed my love for Joe Hill’s Horns on this site before. Each re-read of this cherished book brings me enjoyment, anguish, sadness, and exhilaration. Upon hearing the news that My Precious would be turned into a movie, I was eager to learn the particulars and hoped that it wouldn’t be totally ruined.

Daniel Radcliffe stars as Ig, a man who has been outcast from his community following the brutal rape and murder of his longtime girlfriend, Merrin (Juno Temple). After visiting the site of Merrin’s death near the one year anniversary, Ig awakens to find that he has grown horns.

Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, Piranha 3D) is directing the Keith Bunin (In Treatment) adapted screenplay. I can only hope that the good buzz surrounding the film is genuine and my book will remain untarnished. The teaser looks like the novel feels, so that is good juju.

So excited for this. Love the book and love the cast for the film. Nice little teaser and hoping for lots more when they head to Comic Con next week.
BTW - ew at "crotch fruit".

I've yet to read something by Mr. Hill I didn't love. It's like he refined his father's writing talent, and gods know he had enough to work with. Horns was great and this should prove very interesting. I hope.

I love the book. I've read it probably 7 times now. I am going to watch the ever loving piss out of this movie.

joe hill talked a while ago about the changes the movie made to the character of lee and it sounded like an interesting take on the character.

  • tarqueeny

I hope they cut down Lee's exposition. I really didn't like that part of the book, it weighed it down too much.

Why say "This Halloween" and "Coming Soon"?

It's coming... this Halloween. We know when Halloween is. And its not "soon".

  • Damn. We get it. You're not Harry Potter anymore.

    That is SO FUCKING ADORABLE.

  • Oh man, I need to read this. I just finished N0...Nosferatu with silly letters and I really liked it. It had some issues, but overall it was a great read. And I really loved Heart-Shaped Box. To the Nook shop!

  • space_oddity

I really like Nosferatu, but I like Horns better. Locke and Key > all the other stuff, though.

Horns is his best work. Enjoy!

  • JenVegas
