Jennifer Lawrence Denies This Is Her Backside, Continues to Be Crazy Terrific

By Dustin Rowles | Trade News | January 17, 2013 | Comments ()

Jennifer Lawrence -- the best female talk show guests since Drew Barrymore -- came on Letterman this week, and addressed a couple of matters. First of all, she denied that the backside above belongs to her, claiming that it belongs to a 90-year-old woman, and then showed a few more pictures of J-Law "bloat," because she is amazing and has a terrific sense of humor about herself.

In the interview, she also addresses the ridiculous Golden Globe acceptance speech controversy, or where she allegedly dissed Meryl Streep when she was actually quoting First Wives Club (to be fair, no one in her generation has ever seen First Wives Club).

Also, there ain't nothing wrong with that butt.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • duckandcover

I'm so on-board with JLaw with every coverage piece I see of her. I used to be disturbed by her face, just because she had that vague 'There's something wrong with her' appearance, but I do love her now.

  • pnnylne

"to be fair, no one in her generation has ever seen First Wives Club." False Rowles. One of my favorite movies. Yeah, I've been cynical for a long time.

  • TheOriginalMRod

I love her! And I have to say about the photographs, the angle is everything, you always look better when shot from above. A bad angle and crappy lighting can make anyone look bad, not to mention the naughty things you can do with Photoshop.

  • Devlin

Jennifer Lawrence = Amazing. Oh, and her butt is amazing as well, lovely figure.

  • E-Money

Some ladies in J-Law and mine's generation have seen First Wives Club. I knew immediately this was a movie quote and I guffawed heartily when she said it. "You don't own me" or J-Law. She's so great.

  • talldinael

Im 25 and have seen the first wives club dozens of times. PROUD.

  • Yocean

Oh I would love that butt till there's no loving left in the world.

  • Long_Pig_Tailor

  • Lord Otter-Blotter

She's great. But between the photo show here and the "obese" talk a while back, I get the sense she's a little overly image-conscious, in a self-critical sort of way.

  • Jen L.

I'm only two years older than Jennifer Lawrence, and have seen "The First Wives Club" at least 30 times. I used to watch it at least once a month during second and third grades. Then again, I'm weird.

  • I am the same age and have seen FWC at least 10 times. It's hilarious and just fun.

  • Jen L.

Amen! Who doesn't love to say, "Daddy, I'm a lesbian...a big one"?

  • Bert_McGurt

While he could not be reached for comment, sources close to Sir Mix-a-Lot tell us that he's expressed extreme doubt about his brother's denials of getting "sprung" by the photo.

  • kimk

She is kind of great; and, in terms of her ass, even as a hetero woman I was distracted by how hot her body looked in "SIlver Linings Playbook". With all the talk of over-rated Oscar nominees yesterday, I feel like if anything "Silver Linings Playbook" and her performance in it are under-rated/experiencing an unwarranted backlash.

  • Ben

She honestly really shouldn't worry about what Lindsey Lohan had to say about her on Twitter.

I'll confess, I had no idea JLaw was quoting anything, I just thought she was being cheeky.

Also, a minor non-sequitur, but I love the pajiba commenter who claims that Lawrence gives "none of the fucks". Like there is a finite and limited number of fucks. Something about that joke tickles my brain.

  • TheAggroCraig

I didn't catch the quote either, but even if there was no quote I don't see how it equates to "she hates Meryl Streep". Shit, if I won an acting award over her I'd absolutely half-jokingly gloat about it. I'd also be a woman, but that's another topic.

  • Slash

I do believe Dave is smitten ... It's kinda cute and also a little uncomfortable when that happens.

  • Slash

J Law is pretty awesome. Imagine, addressing manufactured "controversies" with a sense of humor.

  • oilybohunk7

WHY IS SHE SO FANTASTIC? God, she is just delightful.

  • sean

Am I the only one that likes that big butt?

  • Idle Primate

that is a big butt? that butt only aspires to badonkadonk

  • TheOriginalMRod

You like big butts and you cannot lie.

  • prairiegirl

She could not possibly be more charming. She is a refreshing change of pace and seems quite down-to-earth. I think Dave has a big old crush on her.

  • FireLizardQueen

I have such a crush on her! I watched 3 movies she was in the same weekend (Silver Linings Playbook, Winter's Bone, Like Crazy) and I now love her even more than before. I want to braid her hair and talk about boys while sharing ice cream and having pillow fights.

  • F'mal DeHyde

I like her even more than I did before. I'd like to see her with Craig Ferguson.

  • Pants-are-a-must

There are so many actors I'd like to see with Craig Ferguson.

    (seriously, though, agreed)

  • BlackRabbit

Just a general observation: It seems awkward to refer to someone as a "talent." An odd word choice."He's a great talent."

  • Miss Laaw-yuhr

I hear you. That always feels awkward to me as do phrases like "Don't disrespect me" popularized on MTV reality shows. I realize that talent is a noun, but to me it sounds better when it's used as an adjective. And whatever is being done with "disrespect" as a verb should just be stopped. Then again, I know right away if someone starts talking about "being disrespected" that I am probably dealing with a psycho. So early warning detection system.

  • Actually, I think "talent" is best used ironically with a significant eye roll. See, "Jimmy's the... talent" by Tom Hanks in That Thing You Do

  • Miss Laaw-yuhr

You win on that count for sure.

  • Sara_Tonin00

I'm sure it's meant in the semi-archaic" unit of measurement" sense. A sneakily erudite dig at her weight.

  • L.O.V.E.

    Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
    Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues
    Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby
There ain't nothin wrong with that ... butt.

I had no idea that song was missing a word this whole time. I like this full version. Thanks, Dustin.

  • lauwer

I'm a in looove with her. And not for her looks (although she is a looker), but her personality. She can win all the awards in next coming years, even for crappy shit, just so she gets invited to all the talkshows.

  • poopnado

She could charm the black off a telegram boy.

    Wait, what?

  • jollies

I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it.

  • zeke_the_pig

Careful you don't choke on that hot ham water

  • Pants-are-a-must

I've never seen anyone, certainly not anyone her age, who matches Letterman's crankiness like that. Bless her.

  • lowercase_ryan

It's a credit to her that she can say something like "I'm well rounded and practically perfect" and I don't begrudge her at all, but rather agree with her wholeheartedly.

  • Carlito

    She was being facetious.

  • lowercase_ryan

    I'm aware...

  • Carlito

Pardon me. I begrudge my clarification.

  • Kballs

I wish she could turn around in that picture so we can have a deep conversation about the alarming predilection of our culture to deify the acting community while I try my damndest to not look at her lovely bewbs.

  • lowercase_ryan

  • pajiba

I already edited it. So THEIR.

  • BWeaves

    Ugh, they're at it again.

  • MauraFoley

I have nothing clever to say. She is amazing. End scene.
