Admittedly, the headline sounds more salacious than the story itself, but the story is not bad, either. An American Airlines employee is suing Jay Leno after Leno suggested in his monologue that the employee was having sex with rats. From The Wrap:

In the complaint, filed in New York Supreme Court in Nassau County, former American Airlines flight attendant Louann Giambattista claims that a July 2013 episode of “The Tonight Show” picked up a story about her supposedly smuggling her pet rat onto work flights in her underwear and/or pantyhose. (Giambattista says that the story was the result of an alleged “relentless campaign of discrimination” by American Airlines.)

According to the suit, “Leno and his guests falsely accused Ms. Giambattista of engaging in sexual relations with a rat,” primarily via the comments made by the panelists on the “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda” segment.

Among the comments: “[If] I were one of those rats, I would’ve been very upset. I prefer not to sit in cooch.”

A COOCH PUN?! Can I sue for intentional infliction of emotional distress?

Anyway, Giambattista says that, since the joke, she and her husband have become pariahs in their community, among friends, co-workers, and family members, and her poor husband can no longer have sex with his wife because every time he looks at her, all he can think about are the rats with which Leno alleged she was having sex.

The damages seem specious, but since Giambattista is not a public figure, I suspect the threat of losing the suit will be enough for The Tonight Show to settle out of court.
