It's Not Sam Raimi's Birthday!

It’s the summer, and the viral video people are still on a break (although, I heard that hh has something excellent in the works), which means that the best we can offer tonight is James Franco and Bill Hader screwing around unscripted, in honor of Sam Rami’s birthday. Which is fine. And it’s even a little funny, mostly because Bill Hader doesn’t know how not to be funny. But here’s the problem I have with this video. It’s not the fact that there’s no Spider-Man 4, so the entire conversation here between Franco and Hader’s Willem Dafoe is null. Nor is it that James Franco can’t help but laugh at the few lines that inadvertently land. It’s this: It’s not Sam Raimi’s Birthday. It’s not even close to Sam Raimi’s birthday.

So what the fuck is going on here?

Hmmmm I used to be a fan of James Franco (I thought his character was super captivating in City by the Sea and I like him in Milk. But all this crazy shit he's always on about it just...weird....

Don't you mean Willem Defaux.

Was his ringtone Weird Al's "White and Nerdy"? I like to think that's always Bill Hader's ringtone.

Isn't there some internet rumor going around that they're dating? Or did I make that up?

OK, now I have to go watch some Freaks and Geeks and use James Franco's cheekbones to cut diamond.

hey, i liked crimewave. the routine wasn't really very funny, but for some reason, it was enjoyable watching them crack up at their own jokes
