Is This a Steve Carell Cameo in Last Week's Trivia Episode of "The Office"?

The NYPost got a tip from some readers that a particular gentlemen in last week’s episode of “The Office” bore a striking resemblance to Steve Carell, with a beard (above). All they had was a tiny photo, so I took the liberty of tracking it down and screen-capturing the above. And I still can’t tell if this member of the “Queerenstein Bears” is actually Carell. On the one hand, it does look an awful lot like him. But on the other, it kind of looks like a hobo they pulled off the street. And since Carell was not killed off the show, is it possible that his character has fallen on hard times and is turning tricks in gay bars.

I don’t know. NBC will neither confirm nor deny. What do you think?

I'm going to go with "Who cares?".

I'm more interested in the dude on the right. Does Philip Seymour Hoffman have a camp hillbilly cousin?

Is that the lead singer of Smash Mouth on the left?!?

Posted by: JP at January 18, 2012 9:51 AM

The guy on the right is Donny Richter, stunt double for Andy.

What is that black guy doing in a gay bar?!

Posted by: admin at January 18, 2012 10:01 AM

Yup, that's him. That's his nose, and the beard looks fake as anything.

Yeah, that looks an awful lot like Carrell

admin, apparently he's enjoying a frosty beverage and some witty conversation. As Bunky and Spud said:

"Well, it takes all kinds."

"That's what it takes? I always wondered what it took."

Don't think so. Steve Carrell's kinda diesel & that dude looks small.

Posted by: the new transported man at January 18, 2012 10:32 AM

it's not.

He certainly got the bear part right.

Is it just me or do his hands look weirdly tiny?

It's not just you.

I don't think the eyes are right to be Steve Carrell. I vote no.

Nah, looks more like Happy's caddy. Points for the Yuengling though.

He is looking directly at the camera. It could be him. Weird. He also kind of looks like robin williams in jumanji though.

Jeaux? My long-lost cousin, could it be you?

On-topic, I'm torn...it does look like him, and sounds like something they'd do on The Office. On the other hand, you'd think NBC would have announced it before the episode aired in order to drum up ratings, maybe by issuing a challenge to viewers to spot the cameo....

Lemon Poundcake, your comment made me think of this clip from "Shooting Stars."
