I'm running on half speed today so that took me a moment to process. Nice.

2011 sucks simply because its making us wait for 2012.

Posted by: Dave at July 12, 2011 12:20 AM

Is it just me or is that poster reminiscent of Inception?

Posted by: Vi at July 12, 2011 2:09 AM

I think I just came.

Posted by: junierizzle at July 12, 2011 2:16 AM

That is one bad-ass poster

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

It must be the heat. I also had to take a moment to process this. But....let me say. WOW.

fucking A!

Posted by: haplo at July 12, 2011 9:02 AM

Very cool.

That is just gorgeous. Do they give out awards for movie poster art? If they don't, they should and they should start with this one. And if they do, they should just go ahead and give this one the win.

Posted by: Shonda at July 12, 2011 9:45 AM

I'll agree with Vi.

When I saw this poster yesterday my first thought was...Well, we certainly know who made Inception..

Posted by: DeistBrawler at July 12, 2011 10:27 AM

It looks like a rapture for rocks. And rock heaven is a bat cave in the sky.

Posted by: Stinky at July 12, 2011 11:09 AM

Oooooooooh God I hope they utterly ruin Gotham's shit in this movie. Logical progression.

You can give me all the rumors/quotes you want, but I refuse to believe that Talia is not behind all of this.

Posted by: D-Day at July 12, 2011 11:16 AM

Yes, and just like the original The Dark Knight movie poster, with the building on fire behind Batman, that never happened in the movie EVER, we can also assume this will also not happen.
An entire landscape of buildings will no all crumble in unison as it is pictured here.

It is merely to look cool, but have nothing at all to do with the movie itself.

Posted by: billixbee at July 12, 2011 11:42 AM

billixbee, I think it's more of an analogy about the situation that's happening to Gotham City than a representation of what is happening during the movie.

At the end of TDK, Gotham is in shambles. Its District Attorney is dead. It has just survived various terrorist attacks from a madman. The criminal underworld has a vacuum at the top that is likely to lead to war. And the Batman, the one guy everyone thought was there to help them, is now believed to be a cruel villain.

Nature hates a vacuum. And that vacuum of leadership on both sides will be the cause of the next wave of destruction.

Fredo plucked the motivation of my fingers and typed my words for me.
Exactly, sir. Exactly.

Posted by: superasente at July 12, 2011 12:19 PM

It could represent the destruction of the old Gotham city by Batman and the rise of a new, better city.

Posted by: Dave at July 12, 2011 1:14 PM

I can't believe the joker's who think that the poster looks anything like the one for Inception. They both have buildings... and that's it. Different angle, different color scheme... hell, the buildings are falling apart here and in the one for Inception they're in one piece (I think). Idiots, I swear...

Speaking of idiots, it took me 5 minutes to find the bat in the picture. I feel like a student of Atlanta public schools...
